Frequently used in discussions about software is the acronym "YMMV."

Your mileage may vary.

In udder words, what works fine on your machine may not be so swell on another's computer.

The above is from the Wilders forum.

A year or so ago after my Webroot SpySweeper subscription expired I researched other offerings. Difficult to do!!! So many out there, so many different reviews. After a few hours of sifting through the opinions/facts/data/reviews/mumblings and semi-coherent babblings almost went with Webroot again.... a good product, apparently.

But, a slight nudge led me to Ewido that has been renamed AVG anti-spyware. Almost daily updates. Seems to work well.

But no ONE anti-spyware anti-malware anti-this and that will catch every single bit of hostile code!!!! This has been proven by testing done by those that know what they are doing.

My paid-for AVG is backed up with Spybot Search & Destroy, AdAware and Spyware Blaster (all free, except AVG).

Comodo is the free firewall replacing the free Zone Alarm.

This link will hopefully lead thee to a poll on the Wilders forum about anti-spyware usage:

The folks at Wilders dig into hostile code protection the way folks here poke into filters and lubrication topics of all types.

No problems at all. Mine isn't beta. I wonder about posters at Wilders and their motives. SD is one of the best. Oh and Webroot SpySweeper brought my PC to it's knees whwen I trialled it. With a P4 2.8/1GB RAM that should not happen.
