Red oil from grease.

Wrapped my grease gun in aluminum foil because it drips. The cartridge was from one of those popular brand of "red tacky grease". I noticed a thick red oil like substance had collected in the tin foil. I carefully let it drain into a container. This "grease oil" has a thick viscosity and appears very slippery. I have been using it to lube ratchet wrenches.
Is this the oil separating from the soap base? It appears to be a very good thick oil.
What do you people think?

This is primarily base fluid which is a combination of base oil plus liquid or solublized additives including red dye. There may be a small amount of soap that became diluted and was carried with the base fluid as it migrated from the grease.
