This morning, I finally dumped my Kumho Ecsta Platimum LX tires
for a set of Michelin Primacy MXV4. Pulling right out of the shop, I felt a big improvement in ride comfort and smoothness
and handling.
My alignment toe in was also out of adjustment, so after the
Hunter 4 wheel alignment and the new tires, the car feels much
more planted and secure on the highway. I only have 47300 VERY
conservative miles on my 2006 Elantra, so I expect the Michelin
to last 60K plus miles, with 5000 rotations and maintaining 32PSI
in the tires.
What surprised me as I inspected the tires is that all 4 tires
are clearly stamped "Green X" on the sidewalls. I was under the
impression that the Primacy were NOT low rolling resistant fuel efficient tires. On the Tire Rack site, the spec sheet for the
MVX4 does NOT show them as Green X tires.

So im assuming they are roll rolling resistant tires? My size is 195/60/15 88H.

On Tireracks website certain MXV4's are listed as Green X on the spec sheet as well as pricing and sizes. I guess they missed your size.

"Many of Michelin's most fuel-efficient Original Equipment (O.E.) and replacement tires are branded with their Green X symbol to provide visual confirmation of the tire's positive contribution to vehicle fuel efficiency and the global environment.

The application of the Green X symbol is determined by laboratory testing on a model-by-model, size-by-size basis. It is Michelin's guarantee that the tire provides a level of energy efficiency among the highest in the market for its category without compromising other key characteristics, such as traction and tread wear".

You made an excellent choice ! Consumers Reports which
puts tires through much more thorough test than Tire Rack
( example....wear is tested over 16,000 miles ) rated the
Michelin Primacy MXV4 ( H speed rated) tires "EXCELLENT"
( their highest rating ) for rolling resistance. They
not only provide very good overall performance, but their
very low rolling resistance will contribute to good gas
mileage also. Of course ones driving habits contribute
the most.

I think Michelin is stamping Green X on most of their passenger car tires these days. Even the Pilot Exalto A/S has Green X on most sizes now. It's possible that Michelin tweaked the rubber compound of the Primacy MXV4 in your size and applied the Green X symbol.

And unlike the "excellent" rolling resistance rating for the
Michelin primacy MXV4, the rolling resistance rating for the Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S is just "fair."

Thats interesting...Is the rubber compound for the OEM Primacy
different that if you buy the tire as replacement??

I see the new 2012 Toyota Camry is using Primacy MXV4 as OEM, and
the Green X symbol is NOT stamped on these tires.

I've noticed that my Primacys have started feeling a lot softer after 2k. Slight loss in road feel as well. However, the good traction, low noise and comfortable ride has not changed.

No, those are tires that were developed specifically for a platform.
