Old Prestone Dexcool Question

I need to top off the coolant in a 2018 Buick Encore. The OM just says to use “Dexcool” coolant. I have a jug of Prestone brand Dexcool that is probably from 2008-2010 or so (left over from back in the day when I drove a Saturn that took Dexcool) that I’d like to use if it is the correct stuff. Is this okay to use?

Dexcool had a reformulation around that time not sure exactly the year due to it eating lower intake gaskets, sludging up, etc. I do not recommend it.

A new gallon is so cheap even a 50/50 pre mixed just spend the $10-15.

Recycle it if possible, then buy new coolant.

I'd pour it in without thinking twice.

If you have your doubts then buy a new jug . It only costs $7 a jug after mixing a 50/50 blend

Thanks for the input. I’ll buy a new jug. I guess just like motor oil and API specs that the coolant “formulation” changes over time. I’ll see about recycling this old stuff.
