Nursing my cable modem through the weekend

Nursing my cable modem through the weekend....yeah I know, I should just get off then net.

Seriously this modem has a DC of 06. Ambit. Broadcom.

Basically it loses sync every few hours, buffer fills, or some other more sneaky thing. I've been rebooting and disconnecting it, etc and eventually I can get it going. I just now took it apart and the CCA was pretty dirty - on the solder side. So I cleaned it and it's working again.....we shall see......

Man what a hunk o junk. I just now got it working while waiting for...the CABLE GUY. 10 minutes.....we'll see.

I'm wary of the ubee DOCSIS 3 cable modem/router (running in bridge mode) that time warner has provided. Never even heard of this company before, I might at some point pick up the motorola DOCSIS 3 cable modem because motorola is at least a known quantity.
