New gear shift knob, or maybe not?

Long story short: I have an aftermarket sts (OTTP) shifter in my Saturn Ion Redline. That knob is threaded
3/4-16.
I bought another shift knob that is 10x1.25 that of course does not fit, but came with 3 different adaptors, none of which fit...

Is there some weird old carpenters trick of making this work somehow, or am I sending the shift knob back.

The proper sized adaptor does not seem to exist.....

If you really like the new shift knob, drill out the threads and epoxy in a 10x1.25 nutsert/rivet nut. I would use metal-filled epoxy.

Or contact somebody like silencer central as they have a lathe as well as the ability to make threads in probably whatever you need although I know they standardly do one half 28
