Hi Bruce,

If you are buying phthalates in drums, especially from a distributor, then you are correct. Even in bulk directly from some producers you are correct, but there are low cost phthalates out there that can actually be cheaper than PAOs. These are mostly plasticizer grade esters. The main use for phthalates is as a commodity plasticizer for vinyl, as in hundresd of millions of pounds.

Tom yes I buy some Fighting grade, BUT use them only for seal swell always thought that for use at ?? >10% would swell seals to much so I do not use them in HIGH ester products as the sole ester too solvently in my mind I do not need seal problems on my list.
