hello ..my '22 Honda Navi with @ 2800 miles & 1 year ownership is soon out of warranty about the time my riding season begins in March-April; so far I have stuck with semisynthetic 10w-30 for both engine & rear differential which met specs; now I will have 'options' to choosr different fluids...perhaps 10w-40 oil for the engine & 80w-90 gear oil for the rear differential to beef up protection; if you were in ssme situation what would you do? thanks...

You can keep on using the same fluids and your Navi will likely run forever. Maybe jump to full synthetic oil, although with the lack of a filter and short change intervals it probably won’t matter much. Oddly enough, 80/90 weight gear oil isnt much thicker than 30 or 40 weight engine oil. They are measured on different scales. so Honda got it right with their factory recommendations.

For the final drive:
15w-40 recommended/approved for MTU 2.1 or 3.1
or Universal Tractor Transmission Fluid that meets GL-4
both are beefier and inexpensive options.
