Have you ever biked to the parts store?

No, but I have walked there a few times.

(I would not trust leaving my ride outside of a parts store in Beverly Hills {as if!}, encased in a 3' thick walled steel vault, as it's worth more than my car's blue book value!!

Walked and biked, for the store is only a 1/4 mile away. Normally not real big auto parts.

I would if I had a parts store within a stone's throw of me and I didn't live in a bike-hostile town.

But I wouldn't take anything big home, unless I had a Surly Big Dummy Xtracycle like this:

bike is really my preferred mode of transport for trips less than 3 miles, and I have an AZ and O'Reilly's within 3 miles--so I do it pretty often.

The only memorable trip was doing the front brakes on my V70R. Drove to pick up the rotors (since they're really heavy), put the car up on stands, pulled the calipers/rotors...only to find I got the wrong size rotors...

There and back with 2 12" rotors in a back pack. Ouch. I understood those funny cargo bikes a lot better after than experience.
