Fake DeWalt Drill?

I would like to buy a DeWalt drill. I already have an impact, two batteries, and a charger.
Seems like Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. are all $99 for a "kit": drill, spare battery, bag, etc.
Amazon has a couple listings for bare tools; but they seem "too good to be true".
Do you suppose they are fake knockoffs that are garbage?

Half the cost of a tool is the power source. No risk with amazon, send it back if it doesn't do what you want it to.

The drill is sold by David's Tools and ships by David's Tools, not Amazon.

Probably a legit tool. No charger or batteries included.

Its a very old model.. there are about 15 sellers with them.
for 50$
none are sold by amazon.
some are SHIPPED by amazon.

most of the 3rd party sellers have bad ratings.

IF I was going to buy it I'd go with this seller.

It’s sold by the Dewalt store. Just an older model.

I would step it up to the DCD998 or 996.

That price doesn’t seem too risky as that drill looks to be worth about $50 if not less. My biggest complaint is they’re weak chucks on the smaller drills.
