Plate renewal time for the truck and it needed an E-test.

Didn't bother to try and get things as hot as possible, since I figured it would pass with ease.

And how.

HC ppm: @2500RPM Limit: 150, Reading: 1 @idle Limit: 150, Reading: 1
CO%: @2500RPM Limit: 0.70, Reading: 0.01 @idle Limit: 0.70, Reading: 0.01

Oil was changed around 3,000Km ago. Air filter is over a year old.

Not too bad

Trav: if it is newer than 1987, it gets tested for the rest of its life up here.

I assume this was the two speed stationary test, since it has Auto-4x4, and the places normally don't have 4WD dyno's.

Now pre 96 are all exempt.

My old Townie will be E-tested for as long as she's on the road. My '87 GT was written off the year after its final E-test

I got about the same numbers on my Mercury with the 4.6 a year and a half ago. Except our test is on the "dyno". The technician told me he had to disable the abs to do the test and that my light would be on for a little bit and then it would go out. He was right.
I did the same thing - just drove the car as it was about 3 miles to the shop.
I have a close friend who has a 93 Town Car with the 4.6 also. His car has over 200K miles - he has never had any problems passing an emission test.
The Modular engines seem to burn very clean!

My 2006 Sierra was E-tested two months ago on the dyno

HCppm @2182rpm limit83, reading 1 @idle limit150, reading 0
CO% @2182rpm limit.46, reading 0.0 @idle limit0.7 reading 0.0
NOppm @2182rpm limit 1208 reading 45 @idle N/A

Interesting that the HC limit is lower for my truck, because my truck is newer.

Do you have your NO readings?

They didn't have them on the sheet, perhaps because it wasn't a dyno test.

BTW, how many Km on your Sierra? Just about to turn 218,000Km on the Expedition. Go figure a properly maintained vehicle has nothing to fear from the sniffer eh? LOL

I only have 74k km (46k mi) on my truck.

Agreed about proper maintenance. I don't anticipate any trouble passing emissions testing twelve years from now, which is when I plan on retiring my truck. My previous truck, a 1986 F250, passed its e-test in 2006 and at 370k km with flying colours.
