Carquest 84356 11mos/12.5k Miles

This filter was donated by @Jimmy9190 , so I figured I would through it's paces on a 2014 CRV 2.4L, and post the results here for educational purposes. I'm impressed! It was still more than half full after leaving it to drain overnight. Thank you @Jimmy9190 !

Man, those pleats next to each other. All those sets of two pleats butted up next to each other almost appears like they were glued together. It looks like it got well loaded but the oil doesn't look too bad. Thanks for sharing!

I left the media to drain a little more and will re-inspect again tomorrow, the pleats were clean.

This Carquest appears to be a Purolator made filter based on the date code on the end, STP in recent years have been made by Premium Guard or more recently Champion Labs. This filter was manufactured January 2022 and since then, although since the latter part of last year Champion Labs has apparently started making Carquest filters.

They're likely not the same filter now, they're now Champion Labs and not Purolator.

The filter in the Video was manufactured January 15th 2022. The newer Carquest filters made towards the end of 2022 are Champion Labs,

That oil is beyond black! Looks like one of my old IDI diesel filters!

Purolator in a Carquest can. Build date is 1/13/2022.

Use the paper towel wick trick ... dries out the media pretty well.

I was going to use a Fram Ultra but misplaced it, so I went with a ProSelect for a shorter interval and used MS5K 5w-20.

I re-inspected the media for accumulation, and nothing was located within the pleats.
