Our 2000 Dodge Caravan has 90k on it, new timing cover gasket and oil pan gasket. No leaks. On my next oil change I'm trying to decide if I will quit using conventional and go with 5w30 Maxlife blend or full synthetic, Synpower would be my choice of synthetic. During our winters, the van is driven on extremely short trips, but it's not as much of an issue now that the temps are warming up again.

If this were your van, would HM blend or full syn be the better choice?

Especially if you didn't see any varnish when you dropped the pan. If everything is clean and no leaks, SynPower for now.

My mechanic said the engine was spotless from underneath when he pulled the pan gasket. Said there was literally zero sludge.

as far as I know you can always ask NAPA to order a case for you...even better if you can contact local ASHLAND Distributor....

OR

contact local Valvoline "Instant Oil Change"...they might stock it or may also be able to order a case for you
