2017-21 CR-V: A/C Compressor Shaft Seal Leak

Just got a letter from Honda letting us know that there is a potential issue with the A/C Compressor and that they have extended warranty coverage to 10 years / unlimited miles. We, so far, have not had any issues with our 2018 CR-V, but it's nice to know Honda will cover us if we do. Here's some details I found on nhtsa.gov:

Apparently it's also an issue with 2016-2021 Civics.

Yes, Honda has seem to had some issues with their/supplier's compressors lately.

I wonder if that's what happened with ours. In 2021, ours started not blowing cold air or it would take 5-10 mins to get cool. Took it in under B2B warranty and they said it was low on refrigerant but didn't have any visible leaks so they evacuated and recharged the system. It's been fine since but I wonder. I asked the Service Advisor how it would get low on refrigerant if there weren't any leaks...she shrugged her shoulders and said sometimes they can come low from the factory.
