2002 Trailblazer, Clean Throttle Body

My Trailblazer has 132,000 miles on it. Removed and cleaned the throttle body last night for the first time ever. It was covered in carbonized gunk, especially on the back side. I also added 1/2 a bottle of Lubro Moly MOS2. After doing both of these things it runs so much smoother and has much more power and responsiveness. I'll have to check how much the MPG improves.

I used Valvoline Throttle Body cleaner and it is now spotless. It's drive by wire so all I had to do was disconnect an electrical connector and a vac. hose. Unbolted with four 10mm bolts.
 
Yeah, I did that often when I had my TB - about once a year. Your right, it does make quite a difference in overall performance.
 
Just did a quick google search and it sounds like the 02 doesn't have a MAF. Found the following info:

It doesn't have a MAF. The PCM "calculates" airflow using it's inputs to determine air density and flow. 02's have the older style "Speed Density" type engine control system.
