Not a bad report. Did shear to a 30wt. I've got Valvoline VR-1 Racing 20w50 mineral in it now. I'll see how well that works out.

You could easily run that oil out to 5k miles or beyond. TBN is way up there.

I have VR-1 Dino in my 86 K75C now. Second time for that oil in my bike. Everything I put in that BMW shears down at least one grade: M1 TDT, M1 15W-50 and yes..now VR1 20w-50.

Can't say that I have seen any harm though. I am at 140,000 miles now and last time I was under the Cam Cover the cam lobes looked like new and my Compression still checks out to spec.

Think I am going to try Shell 5W-40 synthetic on my next oil change on my Kawasaki. Incidentally Kawasaki recommends a change interval of 7500 miles with normal oil. Guess I'm wondering why I need to change it more frequently especially if i am using synthetic.

5/40 synthetic oils shear down real fast in a shared sump motorcycle.
Faster then any 20/50 dino oil and faster in many cases then the 15/40 Dino HDEO.
