2.7 Ecoboost - An overbuilt beast with a flaw

I have more confidence in the longevity of the oil pump drive belt in my 2.7 Nautilus than I do of the crank driven powder forged oil pump gears in my Mustang. Way more!

    0w40 to replace 5w20?

Running 5W-40 PP Euro in my supercharged 5.0 for the last 2 oil changes. 10W-30 Amsoil Signature prior to that since new. It gets along well with the 5W-40. The factory specified 5W-20 was never a consideration.

Do you care if a vehicle's hood has a prop rod?

The prop rod from my Mustang has been hanging on the garage wall since 2011. The Redline struts that replaced it are still doing their thing. Absolutely no regrets in making that upgrade.

22 G63 AMG already burned 1qt of oil on first 1000 miles?

My Mustang drank 2 liters in the first 1,600 K which somewhat freaked out. I drained the factory 5w-20 swill and replaced it with Amsoil 10w-30 SS. The oil consumption stopped after the first oil change and it's been fine ever since. I would top it up and monitor and see what happens.

Differences in PDS, older PP Euro 5w-40 and newer PP "Racing" 5w-40?

My Mustang approves of it. Made the switch to PP Euro 5W-40 from Amsoil SS 10W-30 2 years ago. Motor runs nice and quiet and no consumption issues with the current setup on10 pounds of boost. Readily available and at 8 quarts per oil change much cheaper than the Amsoil.

    Sellers of PP Euro 5-40?

That is correct. It also goes on sale up here at Canadian Tire several times a year at 45% off ($22 US) I made the switch to 5W-40 PP Euro a couple of years ago from Amsoil SS 10W-30. The Mustang gets along real well with it.

    New SUV Suggestions

I'm enjoying the heck out of my Nautilus. Very quiet and comfortable. The 2.7 is a gem of a motor. Build quality is excellent. I also had a 2013 RDX and would never buy another Acura based on my experience with it. I replaced that with a 2016 Sorento SX which gave me excellent service.
