ARX 1st rinse cycle complete, observations

Steve, I strongly beleave the sediments that drained from the car pan to the catch pan were in the car pan to begin with. I religiously drain my lawn tractors engine oil every 25 hours. I use the same drain bottle every time, its a 2 quart PETE clear bottle, and I typically don't get around to...

    Ring cleaning on limited-use vehicle

ARX is usually very effective on ring packs very early on in the cleaning phase. Should get some real cleaning in just 300-500 miles. Lots of heat and pressure at the ring/wall interface. This is the area of a motor that will achieve results first.

    Auto-RX with Amsoil ATF

I would run the ARX in the trans. with 1000 to 1500 miles of service life left. Replace the fluid/fuilter, you are done. No wasted fluid.

AutoRx - done it wrong clean phase with Elf Synthetic!!

Yes. But just remember to run the 2000 mile rinse phase with a mineral oil(dino).

ARX 1st rinse cycle complete, observations

That a huge drop in oil consumption, down to 25 to 30% of what it was. Perhaps the sand had been sitting in the pan for along time, mixed in with some crud that previously wouldn't drain. I would hope you wouldn't find any sand the second go around. Do you have any cracks in the air intake duct...

Maintenance Auto-RX Dose in Sludged Engine = ?

If the motor is sludged as you indicate. You need to run the clean and rinse cycle, likely twice to correct the problem. It does not take any effort on the owners part, other than a couple short oil change intervals. The product works as you drive. How hard is that. I would recommend that he...

    Started AutoRx on a 1993 Lexus SC300 w 100k Miles

As clean as the SC300 motor top end looks, its likely that it had some ring deposits. Better ring to wall interation means extra mpg, as long as a heavy right foot doesn't negate it.

The story of Auto-RX, M1, and LC

I don't think that LC had cleaned the motor, when compared to what ARX had achieved in your earlier oil change. LC added to oil when added to fresh oil and subsequent 1 oz. per quart additions at every 1000 miles will darken the oil on its own. I'm not say thats bad in any way, appearance has...

auto rx or LC20 which is best?

Add the ARX cleaning dose to your existing oil, with a new filter. With only 1000 miles in three months this oil is plenty good to use for the cleaning cycle. Follow up with a 2000 mile rinse. It is likely that you can run 6 months afterwards, it is only 2000 miles, from your above mileage per...

ARX and non-synth concerns in well maintained engine

I would recommend the Auto-Rx procedure. Has far more cleaning ability, especially ring packs, while driving. You may clean with your current synthetic, followed by a dino rinse. This would be my recommendation before considering any greatly extended oil change intervals.

    Is AutoRx acidic?

ARX although a combination of esters is essentially neutral. If your trans has over 30,000 miles since the last change, consider it to be have been dirty. Many of the quick change oil places have essentially the same equiment to change out trans fluid.

    AutoRX with engine mods

Take great care not to loose gasket pieces into the motor ARX will not dissolve gaskets. However oxidized oil deposits that contain wear metals and airborne dirt ingestion ARX will definitly help. Also assembly lube is proned to collecting dust and airborne junk while you are performing your top...

Why use Auto-Rx with synthetic oil?

Another eason why to run an ARX cleaning would be to be sure that the crank seals are cleaned and rinsed before the conversion. You want to be sure that the seals are cleaned well before switching to synthetic. What little cleaning a synthetic might do on its own may cause seals to weep due to...

    AutoRX with engine mods

Why not run the ARX before the overhaul work? Probably save you lots of hand cleaning time.

    My Auto-RX Filter Pics

My belief is that as a filter begins to load and the element tightens, this is where the larger deposits accumulate. This accumulation is not representative of whats flowing in the lube system, but a collection of alot of small sized debris. Unless the larger particles were set free from the...

    how to best measure A-RX

You will need to do two cleaning cycles on this high mileage motor. Again be sure to run dino for at least steps 2,3, and 4. Then run dino for at least a couple changes thereafter.

Interesting Auto-Rx test on an oldie

Perhaps the motor is running a richer fuel mixture with the lower thermostat leading to fuel dilution into the oil and or putting more fuel related volume through the crankcase ventilation system. Are you staying put with the 180 degree thermostat?

Is my truck a good AutoRX candidate? Pics in another thread

One heck of a lot easier to just run a cleaning cycle and rinse with ARX. Ring packs are cleaned up normally in the first 750 miles of driving, no need to pull plugs. Plus you get 1500 miles of cleaning action on the top end as well.

Is my truck a good AutoRX candidate?

I would start the ARX cleaning cycle on the back end of the useful life of a GTX fill, with a new filter installed. Auto-Rx will just as well on 1500 mile used dino, as it will with fresh. Get the most out of your oil.

    Auto-Rx with 5W-20

Just remember to save a dime and run dino for the rinse phase, for best results.
