2011 GMC Terrain Needs new catalytic converter. Go OEM or Aftermarket?

So my GMC Terrain has a P0420 code. I replaced both oxygen sensors but that is not fixing it. There is an extended warranty on the cat for these vehicles, but of course mine is now just out of that windows. I always go OEM but the cheapest I can find for the OEM cat is around $600 shipped...

    Valvoline MaxLife ATF formula change?

I just did two drain and fills on my GMC Terrain with MaxLife ATF and the first thing I noticed with both gallons is that it no longer has that awful smell that MaxLIfe ATF is known for. Just wondering if anyone else here has noticed this? I checked the date stamp on the bottle and were both 2022.

AC Delco PF63 now replaces PF63E?

I am getting ready to change the oil in my 2015 V6 GMC Terrain. From the factory it came with a PF48 filter, which they apparently use at the factory to ease assembly line production, however GMC states that this vehicle requires the PF63E filter. There is a PF63 filter but it was recommended...

    Clear Coating rotor hats?

I bought some non coated rotors that began to rust almost immediately. So I took them off and sanded them down to remove the rust then painted the hats silver with Rust-Oleam 2000F High Heat Silver and they now look great. However it got me thinking, if I had brand new non coated rotors and used...

    Pennzoil Platiunum 5w-30 Too Thin?

I don't know exactly what the criteria is for weight ratings so correct me if I am wrong. But I noticed today that according to Pennzoil's PDS for PP 5w-30 the kinetic viscosity at 100c cSt is 8.6. However from my understand for an gasoline engine oil to qualify as 5w-30 is has to be between 9.3...

Peak Cool Orange no longer GM DEXCOOL Approved?

So I decided to do a drain and fill on my 2015 GMC Terrain V6. I had a few Menards rebate coupons so I decided to buy the Coolant there because they sell the Peak Cool orange coolant. However I noticed that when I got home that the bottle no longer has the specific words of it being GM Dexcool...

    121k 2011 GMC Terrain 2.4 ~ PP 6250 miles

Did a Blackstone UOA last summer, but decided to switch it up to Wix this time since it was half the price. Blackstone at 5,000 miles came back all good except fuel dilution thinned the viscosity some. They recommended pushing it to 7,000-7,500 which is right in line with the OLM for the...
