MMO use in a Honda Civic with 120k

90k, yep. That's why I thought 50k was safe. HA! Silly me. I had the tranny rebuilt which included adding a quality brand external cooler, I had the front engine mount replaced, the guy also flushed and bled the brake system. All for $2500. Honda wanted about $900 more than that which did not...

MMO use in a Honda Civic with 120k

Great, I just changed my oil too. So would you change it again soon?? If so, I just wasted about $25.

MMO use in a Honda Civic with 120k

Yep, our new Kia van states to use 5-20 or 5-30. I guess all the newer cars/trucks are designed for this like you said. I think as long as you regularly change oil and take care of your engine it probably doesn't make much difference what you use. I don't let any oil in my engine more than 5k...

MMO use in a Honda Civic with 120k

Um, since when is the word G_O_D a hushed word? What has our society become? Sheesh.

MMO use in a Honda Civic with 120k

Yea, I never took care of the tranny and I sure paid for it. It dropped near 120k. So, now I know to drain and fill every oil change or at bare minimum every other oil change. You cannot let these Honda trannys go too long. (They will NOT hold up) I only changed it a few times, like every 50k...

    Valvoline synpower oil treatment

What is VSOT? Never heard of this. Is this something you use regularly in the oil? I currently use Mobil 1 synthetic so would I even need an oil treatment? Hmmmm....

MMO use in a Honda Civic with 120k

Yes, that 5-20 oil is like water but Honda says it's ok for those types of engines? (I've used 0-20 before) I get worried sometimes. But, with cooler weather coming soon the thinner stuff is better. I think this summer I will go a little thicker with the oil, especially now that I have over 120k...

MMO use in a Honda Civic with 120k

Yea, I was worried about putting about 8oz in the crankcase but after reading through these posts I doubt it will do any harm. I will use it more regularly in my gas though. I also plan to do an Auto-Rx treatment next oil change. This will be exciting and I am curious to see how much junk there...

MMO use in a Honda Civic with 120k

Yes, I know Mobil 1 is awesome oil but again, I have 120k on my engine and I can't imagine it being the cleanest thing out there any more. This is why I wanted to use a little MMO. I also want to know more about the AutoRX treatment for my engine. So, you don't think the 8oz of MMO I just added...

MMO use in a Honda Civic with 120k

Hey MMO experts! I need some advice. I have 120k on my 2002 Honda Civic. The tranny has been rebuilt recently BTW. Although this is not a tranny question... LOL Anyway, how much MMO should I use in both the crankcase and gas tank? Maybe I should have asked first but I already purchased an...

    Questions about Additives/Cleaners!

Regarding the ARX treatment... I just did an OC last week. I am using a cheap (don't spank me!) FRAM filter and was wondering if I would be ok with the ARX treatment with this filter or should I wait until my next OC and get a better filter before I start treatments. I am using Mobil-1...

    Questions about Additives/Cleaners!

For the Auto-RX I am reading you can only use non-synthetic oil, even before the treatment. Is this true? If so, then I have to switch to non-synthetic for a while, then do the treatments, then back to synthetic? Sheesh!

    Questions about Additives/Cleaners!

Also, can someone explain how the Marvel Mystery oil works? Is it used in the fuel system or put in the engine oil, or both? They sell this at Wal-Mart for about $2 believe it or not. I was surprised to see it there but didn't buy any because I am not sure how to use it or where to put it. The...

    Questions about Additives/Cleaners!

I read up on the Auto-RX and would like to try this in my Honda. It has 115,000 miles and the engine has never been treated or cleaned. I was reading there is a method to using Auto-RX using a clean and rinse cycle or something like that but all I am seeing is bits and pieces of information...

    Questions about Additives/Cleaners!

I have two vehicles, a 2005 Kia Sedona van (600 miles) and a 2002 Honda Civic EX. (115,000 miles!) What kind of additives or cleaners should I use in both vehicles? I am using Mobil-1 oil and filter for both vehicles BTW. But, to get better gas mileage what is the best additive for that...

which gas station gives you highest mpg

which gas station gives you highest mpg

When using like Shell V-power how can you justify the cost of the higher octane vs the lower ones like 87? I mean, does it save you that much more compared to 87 vs 93? The cost of 93 octane is rediculous!! (compared to 87 that is) Do you wind up paying the same or is 87 the better choice. I am...

Honda Civic Auto Tranny Fluid Type?

Is this something I can get to? I'll do some research on this too. Thanks.

Honda Civic Auto Tranny Fluid Type?

No, I haven't tried the "fix" yet but I honestly don't see how this would affect the "clunk". Why would throttle have anything to do with how the car shifts? I keep re-reading your post explaining this but it just doesn't jive. I guess the only way to tell is try it, I know. Wouldn't it be the...

    Extractors vs Draining from Plug...

Yes, we have several marine stores right near us so I need to stop in there and check them out. I am really not up to making one to be honest. Yes, I guess I like to throw away money too! Haha.. What can I say, we live in a world of convenience! Hey, at least I'll change my own oil which is more...
