Ag Wet Sleeve Diesel Engine Coolant

Thanks for all the replies. Looks like I've got some things to learn on Coolants. I don't have much issue going with Cool-Guard II. I have a JD dealer close but their parts counter is pretty lousy. Actually order from Green parts store online and try to avoid them, but could get coolant there...

Ag Wet Sleeve Diesel Engine Coolant

Hi all, running some older tractors from the 80's that both have wet sleeve diesel engines. Would like to get a good coolant to use in both (one is a JD and other is IH). How does the Shell Rotella ELC stack up to something like Cool-Gard II by JD? Looking to flush both systems with distilled...

    Oil for a Ford 2.8 L Cologne V6

So just to update this thread. I decided to go with Pennzoil Synthetic blend High Mileage in 10w-30 after much debate in the oil aisle at Walmart. Believe it or not having a 5 qt. jug for Pennzoil pushed me away from the buying Rottella. Did my first oil change in it yesterday.

Early Ford A4LD Trans -- ATF

I'm just trying to keep a decent fluid in it. Later Transmission like this called for straight Mercon, I would think you would stick with that fluid line vs Dex even though I assume they are very similar.

Early Ford A4LD Trans -- ATF

What is the difference in Dex II and Dex III? I think not long after my trans came out they transitioned to Mercon for all the A4LD's.

Early Ford A4LD Trans -- ATF

Hi all, I just dropped and replaced the front seal in my '85 Ford Bronco II transmission. It has the first year A4LD transmission in it. I believe it specs Dex II ATF for it. I picked up a jug of Super Tech High Mileage ATF for it last night. I plan on starting with this fluid, but my...

Hello all, I haven't posted in a while. I have a question. I have recently acquired my late grandfather's 1985 Bronco II. It has a 2.8 L Carbed V6. It only has 60,000 original miles on it. I have the engine running as it sat for a while and am in the process of replacing the trans pump seal...
