Thanks for all the replies. Looks like I've got some things to learn on Coolants. I don't have much issue going with Cool-Guard II. I have a JD dealer close but their parts counter is pretty lousy. Actually order from Green parts store online and try to avoid them, but could get coolant there...

So just to update this thread. I decided to go with Pennzoil Synthetic blend High Mileage in 10w-30 after much debate in the oil aisle at Walmart. Believe it or not having a 5 qt. jug for Pennzoil pushed me away from the buying Rottella. Did my first oil change in it yesterday.

I'm just trying to keep a decent fluid in it. Later Transmission like this called for straight Mercon, I would think you would stick with that fluid line vs Dex even though I assume they are very similar.

What is the difference in Dex II and Dex III? I think not long after my trans came out they transitioned to Mercon for all the A4LD's.
