    Does oil dissolve plastic bags

Im in centtral california. The city recycling program provides gallon jugs and plastic bags. Used oil in the jug, filter in the bag. Put it on the curb on trash day, gets picked up by the truck that takes recyclables.

    Lucas Red "N" Tacky

When you look at data sheets, there are 2 different water washout tests....one done at 100 degrees, one done at 175. My opinion is if they list the 100 degree test, it means the 175 degree results were nothing to write home about. Low washout at 175, and low oil separation along with most...

Which Synthetic Oil Do You Use, And Why?

Mobil 1 extended performance 0w20 because its only a few dollars more than the regular mobil 1 stuff and with a rebate, i think its the best oil for the money. I have been taking it close to the 15k mile promise too.

    Texas Refinery Grease

See if you can get them to tell you the load wear index numbers for the paragon and 880 products. I couldnt get anyone to cough up those figures. If you ever wanted a "waterproof" grease, the paragon has an impressive water washout of 0.5% i believe...and thats at the higher of the two temps...

I put these in the filter forum too, but this is the filter from this particular analysis. 18k on the filter

Toyota TRD filter from my FJ, 18,000 miles

The 07-09 used a top mounted spin on. 2010+ have cartridge filters that you have to drop the skid plate to change. Few other changes were made for the 2010 model year. I put a larger filter housing on my 2010 to run this bigger tundra v8 filter

Yes, the TRD filter is a synthetic element, i think similar to the amsoil or royal purple filters

Filter seemed to hold up just fine after roughly 18k miles. Its the v8 tundra sized cartridge on the 4L v6 FJ cruiser.

Im not going to push it on this particular fill, esp since i did not do a filter change, and left over a quart of old oil in there. In the next few days, new filter, and 6 fresh quarts of mobil 1 EP. Ill post photos of the TRD filter element too

Hi all, This is the first UOA I have done. Some specific notes: Prior fill was (i believe) regular mobil 1 advanced fuel economy in 0w20 which had about 5k miles on it. When i put in the extended performanc oil i only drained 5 of the 6 quarts out and then added in a 5qt jug of the EP...
