Spec sheets for Purolator One & Boss, Mobil 1, and Fram Ultra Synthetic oil filters that fit Honda/Acura, not sure how to interpret some specs

I asked Fram what viscosity they tested their pressure difference at, and this was their reply. It seems they were all tested per ISO4548, so perhaps they are apples to apples.

Spec sheets for Purolator One & Boss, Mobil 1, and Fram Ultra Synthetic oil filters that fit Honda/Acura, not sure how to interpret some specs

This all makes sense. So the FRAM not specifying the centistokes means it's not possible to compare apples to apples. The Purolator Boss with 16kPa at more than 2x the nominal flow rate of the others, that seems like a massive reduction in flow restriction compared to the One and M1.

Spec sheets for Purolator One & Boss, Mobil 1, and Fram Ultra Synthetic oil filters that fit Honda/Acura, not sure how to interpret some specs

I asked and without any drama received the spec sheets for the Purolator One PL14610, Purolator Boss PBL14610, Mobil 1 M1-110A, and Fram Ultra Synthetic XG7317. We are a Honda family so I asked about the specific models that fit our Hondas. Purolator and Mobil 1 all appear to be made by Mann...

    Reasonable cost for PPF?

The installer does premiumshield elite so I just went with that. Based on that video a few posts ago it seemed the premiumshield yellowed more quickly than some other PPFs. Oh well, at least it's protected from rock chips.

    Reasonable cost for PPF?

Following up, I got the car PPF'ed and I took it home and applied CQuartz UK 3.0. I know some people think this kind of work isn't worth it on a Honda Fit, but I think it's the opposite. For a car that's a daily driver where we'll be taking it on road trips and we'll likely be keeping it for...

    Reasonable cost for PPF?

Okay thanks. The quote says they are doing a wash/iron/clay/polish on the entire car and he said that to me over the phone as well, so I think I'm good there. It sounds like I can take it home and apply some sealant/wax/ceramic since they are doing the prep work on the entire car.

    Reasonable cost for PPF?

So back to my original question, it seems you have quite a bit of experience in this. Would $1400 for the following work be a reasonable cost? wash, iron, clay, polish entire car apply PPF to front bumper, fenders, hood, side mirrors

    Reasonable cost for PPF?

Premiumshield Elite. I talked to the installer today. He says they wrap whatever they can but then certain things like where the fender and bumper meet, they can't wrap.
  9. Q

    Reasonable cost for PPF?

It is yellow. Does the color matter for PPF?
  10. Q

    Reasonable cost for PPF?

I understand why some people may think this, but I would disagree with the sentiment. If the Honda Fit makes my wife happy and looking at it brings her joy, then we're going to want to take care of it so that she can enjoy the car as long as possible. If it was my car I would say the same thing.
  11. Q

    Reasonable cost for PPF?

I don't know, I guess I'll ask. Either way, I assume wrapped edges look best?
  12. Q

    Reasonable cost for PPF?

I got a quote from our local detailer for PPF work and it breaks down like this: $1400 includes- wash, iron, clay, polish entire car apply PPF to front bumper, fenders, hood, side mirrors Is this a reasonable cost for the work? The car is 2019 Honda Fit. The paint is still in pretty good shape...

Rear driver side rotor gets hot

To be fair to the mechanic, this is becoming somewhat of a more obscure issue. I think he was trying to replace as little as possible to save me money, but it looks like there's more to it than he initially thought. I'm taking it back tomorrow and we'll see if he can get it done right.

Rear driver side rotor gets hot

My car is a 13 Civic Si. 2 weeks ago I noticed a burning smell from the rear driver side and soon after a rumbling sound from that area as I released the brake pedal. I took it to the mechanic and he says the caliper was sticking. He replaced the caliper, but the problem of the rotor getting...

Does M1 EP actually use a better base oil? I'm not sure that has ever been resolved anywhere.

    PQIA Oil Analysis

Hi all, new member here, but I've been reading the articles and forums for a while. I have a Civic Si that takes 0W20 oil, and like everyone else, I'm just interested in the best stuff to put in my car. I came across the Petroleum Quality Institute website and on there they compare different...
