Removing stop leak + Radiator change.

I was given a Buick Le Sabre for free from my friend, he had slid into a tree in my yard and made a small leak in his radiator. He put the gold Bar's Leak in. It stopped the leak, but it's always had cooling issues since. I replaced the thermostat and water pump, both had the gold [censored]...

    Gold vs Silver?

Taken from a Tractor forum, here's NAPA's response: NAPA Silver oil filters features include: 1. Cellulose filtering media – removes dirt and contaminants from engine oil. 2. Perforated lock seam steel center tube – ensures stable element support. 3. Metal end caps – provides a positive seal to...

My M235i goes to the strip...

My work sponsored the NHRDA (diesel) drag racing series, theres a diesel BMW sedan that shows up when he can, fun to see everyone's face when he beats a truck. Right around 500 horsepower when I asked him last, low to mid 12's iirc. Photo from Instagram posted by the_vroom_enthusiast

Gas pump wouldn't fill my car.

Not sure what year you have, could be a bad charcoal canister or a clogged line in the evap system. Can honestly just be that pump, nozzle or gasoline; next time you fill up try another station and let us know.

    1999 Camry. No start issue.

Are you sure the terminal connection is tightening all the way? Try some dielectric grease on it. Wire brush your terminal and connection. Its a soft metal, they do wear out over time from replacing the battery. My friends Miata would occasionally do this, he would have to wiggle the terminal or...

    1999 Camry. No start issue.

Possibly not enough cranking amps to fire the car up by itself. If the battery is only 8 months old and you bought it new then its under warranty. Take it back to the place of purchase, have them test it for free and if it fails then they will give you a new one free of charge, every place ive...

    Defender vs CS5 Grand vs RT43 (205/70/R15)

Driven on Defenders and the CS5. Ive been a fan since the CS3, loved my CS4, and just bought a set of the cs5 for my dad. My girlfriend has the cs5 grand as well, theyre quiet, hold their own in all weather, and look to be holding up very well, although none are near the 80k mark that theyre rated.

    Friction Reducer

I see two questions from your latest responses. What application and what dependency? In that last sentence I was referring to the application for the product, so the addition of this additive to the inside of a gasoline or diesel engine. The dependency in that statement was intended to mean...

    Friction Reducer

I'll get back with the rest of the answers here as quickly as I can, but after checking out your link Molakule I'd like to pull a quote from it: "What Causes High Blood Pressure? The exact causes of high blood pressure are not known, but several factors and conditions may play a role in its...

    Friction Reducer

Checking back on this thread, I apologize for the "not really a slap down" comment, in my view/browser it didnt show your "this" as a hyperlink to another thread, I thought you meant this particular thread. Sorry for the semi-snarky comment Garak, you know how you have to put your foot down on...

Any UOAs from an OCI with a filter tear?

You would think someone has one sitting around for a lawsuit or case against the filter company. There's this from a while back I remember seeing: http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1179476&fpart=1

Tire wear in hot weather, higher speeds

What psi are they at, did you check in winter/spring/summer? What date code are on the tires, maybe theyre getting old and drying out now that its warm? I've seen a lot of complaints with those and I'm not overly impressed with them. My dad's corolla came with Affinity tires from Toyota and my...

    Friction Reducer

If I were to use this product, what would I look for specifically to be impressed? What would (or could) I see that would tell me it works? By reducing friction inside the engine it reduces wear, noise, vibration and heat. Quieter/smoother running engine, cooler operating temperatures and a...

    General Tire Altimax Arctic

I must have done eljefino's deal, paid about the same. Worth noting narrower tires help in the winter, and theyre usually cheaper. Just be sure they'll fit. My factory suggested was 185/65/14 so i went with 175 (forget the height i went with to counter the width change) saved an additional $5-6...

    Car overheated, Change oil?

If you're using a conventional I'd change it out, snag a coupon and have a shop change it for $20. The heat probably broke down a large amount of additives and it's more likely to oxidize and make acids. If it's a synthetic, then it more than likely is still perfectly fine, plus changing it...

Here's a few more responses, thank you for your patience. Which API certifications, ACEA standards, or builder approvals rely on ASTM G133? We did not make the claim that engine builders use the ASTM G133, that was an example of one of the tests we use to evaluate our competitors and our own...

    Convertible in Car Wash

My grandpa was rushing to a car show two years back, swung his Pontiac Le Mans convertible into a car wash, cost him a new soft top. As the owner of two convertibles that I drive everyday, not a good idea, especially if you're not in a bathing suit. My jerk friends like to test out my window...

    does new tire need break-in?

Depends on driving style, mine is usually cleaned off around 50-70 miles. Since you just got them on, its worth noting that chain stores will give you free "warranty" rebalances within a reasonable time frame, around me it's not out of the question during the first 12-24 months. Worth asking at...
