    90s European Toyotas Coolant

I have a 1997 Toyota Carina E with 1.6 4A-FE engine. I think it's very similiar to 4A-FE from US spec Corollas and other Toyotas. Now there's a blue coolant in the system and I'd like to change it, as previous owner probably did it for the last time in 2007. In manual there's a statement "use...

    Copper grease on exhaust

My 21 years old car still has original exhaust with no holes. Mufflers looks like new, but pipes has a bit rusty surface. I rarely use my car as a short tripper, so it's rather unlikely for exhaust to rust from the inside significantly. Is it a good idea to cover those rusty pipes with copper...

    New MB 229.6 spec

OK, but M270, M274 and M276 are quite old and will be replaced next year by M254 and M256 (straight six) that are totally new. Maybe 229.6 oils are designed for those (and newer) engines?

    New MB 229.6 spec

    There is also 229.71 spec - https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevolisten/229.71_en.html - as a 229.51 replacement?

    New MB 229.6 spec

https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevolisten/229.6_en.html Last update - 07/07/2016. Is it going to be something like full SAPS 229.5 succesor or something different? I haven't seen anything about this spec on BITOG.

    Honda D series and 0w20

I bought a 1998 Honda Civic sedan with D14A4 engine (1.4 90 hp, 16 valve SOHC). It has only 114 000 kilometers and 10W40 in sump (previously 5W30 A3/B4, 5W40 and once even 10W60!). No visible sludge under the cap, no oil consumption, works perfectly. Because this car is going to be extreme short...

VW G12 + redline water wetter

Current factory fill is violet G13, not red G12. Are you sure that you have G12 coolant in 2016 GTI? If so, you can switch to G13 (both are compatible). G13 provides better heat transfer and better protection due to new formula.

    Amsoil - SS 0W40 vs. Euro 0W40

I'm wondering which one is generally better for Euro applications. SS is a little bit thicker than Euro. Both seems to be PAO based - but which one has more PAO in formulation? Is there any difference in ZDDP/phosphorus content between SS and Euro? I've already tried SS 0W40 - wonderful oil...

The best full SAPS 0W30 with HTHS >3,5

What about this: http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/3827896/PP_EURO_LX_0W30#Post3827896 oil? (in Europe Shell Helix Ultra ECT C2/C3 0W30). It's a low saps oil, but has a great VI and a lot of approvals (MB 229.52, VW 504.00/507.00 etc.) Is it a better choice instead of...

The best full SAPS 0W30 with HTHS >3,5

I did a little research (using MB 229.5 approved oils list). There are only a few 0W30 oils, most of them rated API SL (because of SM/SN limits for 30 weight oils?). Which of them looks interesting for you? 1. Fuchs Titan Supersyn 0W30 - pour point -60 Celsius, 67,2 cSt @ 40, 12,1 cSt @ 100...

    1998 Daewoo Leganza

In Poland almost everything is available - most of Shell products (Pennzoil equivalents), Mobil, Castrol, even Amsoil. Shell from the first link costs about 20 PLN;/litre - 5,40$/litre! (but that's a special discount). Second one costs about 30 PLN; (8$), Mobil oils are priced at the same level...

    1. What kind of vehicle you have 1998 Daewoo Leganza 2.2 (GM engine T22SED or C22SED, I don't know) 2. What your owner's manual says 5W30 or 10W30 or 10W40 3. Where you live Poland, Europe. 4. What your daily drive is like (short trips? long trips? city? highway?) Mostly short trips (up to...

Gear oil for 2003 Fiat Punto

My manual says "Synthetic oil 75W-80 EP. Exceeds requirements of API GL-5 and MIL-L-2105 D LEV (I don't know what's that). So what's the best choice? Vehicle has 178 000 km and since 2003 I have the same oil (I suppose Tutela Car ZC75 Synth) in my gearbox. What's the best choice for me? Will...

2003 Fiat Punto and 1998 Seat Cordoba

OK, I bought Amsoil SS 0W40 for Punto, but I don't know what's the best choice for Cordoba - 5W30 or 0W40? Both grades are accepted by manufacturer. Because oil was changed for the last time in May 2012 (at 186 500 km - about 2000 km = 1200 miles ago) and I'm not going to use this vehicle...

VW G13 - the best coolant?

What do you think about HEPU G13 coolant? http://www.hepu.de/cms/controls/document/docrender.aspx?ID=221 I can't find Glysantin GG40 anywhere, but I think that coolant sold as "Original VW Coolant" at VW dealerships is in fact Glysantin GG40? Is there any significant difference beetwen HEPU...
