    Toyota Water pump question

Replaced my 2011 Sienna water pump at around 131,000 miles. It wasn't leaking but it was making a noticeable noise. It wasn't easy to replace but it's now fixed. I usually go with OEM parts - especially something critical like water pumps - but rockauto had the exact same ASIN wp that a dealer...

98-02 Honda Accord BAXA Transmission Replacement

That's a great price. I paid 3k for a transmission rebuilt about 4-5 years ago in NJ. It had around the same miles, 180-190k, 2000 Accord SE. Mine was worse than tired, it wouldn't shift right beyond first and second gear. So far so good, I change the ATF fluid every 2 years, but the car is...

Picked up some Blizzak WS80 for $100

Just bought a set from tirerack for the Sienna, 235/60/17. I need to clean up some old RAV4 rims bought from CL before I mount them. Looking forward to how they will perform this winter. I have a set for the Accord for a couple of winters already, good winter tires.

Driven with no oil - Wife's 2000 Accord

This balance shaft seal, is it an O ring that has 2 loops? part number 15114-PT0-003. In my last timing belt change I replace all the seals plus this O ring behind the balance shaft seal and that fixed a MAJOR oil leak by the timing belt cover. It was leaking profusely by the timing belt area...

    sharing tips from recent maintenance

On the Sienna the rear pads were done at 65k and I mean DONE. The rotors still look okay so I didn't touch them. On the next rear pad change I will probably do the rotors too. The parking brake does add another level of complexity, I remember seeing some youtube vidoes on changing Toy rear brakes.

    Alternator

Used a Remy rebuilt from rockauto a few years in my 2000 Accord, so far so good. In my case the bad alternator triggered a CEL and that led to a erratic engine revs in highway speeds. After replacing the alternator the problem went away.

    Monroe Quick Struts - Opinions

I see those Sachs on rockauto. I think they were 140ish or 150ish. That's about 30 bucks more than KYBs.

    Monroe Quick Struts - Opinions

I put the Monroes on my 2000 Accord and the KYBs on a 2004 Camry. I found the KYBs were better. The Monroes squeak like crazy on the Accord. I am thinking of getting KYBs for the Accord or even putting the old OEMs back on the car.

    RockAuto Shipping

I have come across the phantom shipping changes while adding/subtracting items to my cart. Trying to save on shipping charges and warehouse codes would change suddenly. It's very annoying. My other complaint is item come and the package has been opened/ripped. Got a door actuator recently and...

KeyFob won't unlock doors on 2004 Accord

I have the same problem on my 2000 Accord but only on the two passenger side doors. Was thinking of opening the door panels and squirt some lithium grease on all the moving parts.

Lisle funnel for radiator drain & fill

Bought the Lisle funnel a couple of weeks ago and I didn't find it to be any faster in burping the air out but it is less sloppy. But I am no expert. This is just the second time in changing the coolant on the Sienna. I remember the first time I did it about a year ago it was kind of messy - and...

What Do I Need To Start Wrenching?

Get a good jack. Years ago I bought a AC Hydraulic jack and it's probably one of the best tool investments I have ever made. It's more expensive than a HF jack. I got in on a group buy on a Miata forum and i think it was just under 200. But it's been used SO many times. It's strong and sturdy...

    TSX PS Pump leaking

I replaced the O rings on my 2000 Accord PS pump it seemed to fix the leak. It wasn't too bad, just need to take your time with the vanes that fall out and put them back correctly.

    AISIN HONDA DW-1 ATF

Just bought 5 Q of Aisin DW-1 from rockauto. It was substantially cheaper than the Honda brand so I went with it. 5 Q came out to less than 30 bucks.

    Locking extensions?

Same here, bought a set of various length from HF. Forget how much it was but it wasn't expensive. Bought for the sole purpose of changing the plugs on my Accord, haven't needed it for anything else. Tape didn't work for me, not strong enough. PLugs are about due on the Sienna so may need to...

Good replacement starter for 02 Accord V6

Recently replaced one in a 2000 Accord, 4 cylinder. Got the Denso rebuilt from rockauto, it was about $100 after core exchange. So far so good. I was getting an intermittent no start.

    09 Honda end link saga

I have done all four corners of my 2000 Accord and it never get any easier. I have tried open sockets to pair with hex keys but it still doesn't how the ball joint tight enough. And it's recessed into the lower arm so there's limited space for vice grips. Every time was a struggle.

ES 350 coolant flush didn't go as expected

Just did a drain and refill of coolant for my Sienna this weekend. At first there was no heat coming out after the refill. Then I read online that I should run the car with the radiator cap off and with the heat in full blast. That worked. It still took a LONG time to get all the air out, maybe...
