    VR1 20w50 vs Maxlife 20w50, dry sump

    The VR1 has been returning excellent wear numbers, especially with the high rpm usage I see. But it also is not readily available for $2 a quart. Has anyone had any experience running them in a non wet clutch system?

    This is a blend of 1qt synthetic VR1 20w50 and 2.75 qts of conventional VR1 20w50. Unit sees A LOT of high rpm use and this change saw quite a few 70 mile runs at over 8k rpm. Thoughts?

    I need an oil for a wet clutch, not rotella

    The transmission this is going in turns rotella to water within 800 miles or so and shifting gets clunky. The yamalube 15w50 synthetic lasts until 1500 miles or so, but it's expensive. Looking for something under 10 bucks a quart. in the 10w40 to 20w50 range.
