    Road Racing Sidecar - GS750

I finally got around to checking the valves. This motor was supposed to be a low-time motor when I installed it and I was in a hurry so I didn't check it out to thoroughly. Anyway, this is NOT a low time motor! The valve adjusters are worn at a slight angle and the cam has noticeable grooves...

    Road Racing Sidecar - GS750

I added moly as directed -- for motorcycles it is 20ml per liter of oil. There was absolutely no change in clutch behavior. Can't wait to see what the next sample reads. Unfortunately my racing season is over and that won't be until next spring.

    Road Racing Sidecar - GS750

Oil sample #2 I'm running pump gas 87 octane with some Stabil and MMO added to the gas. This is the sample where I added LiquiMoly before the race.

    Road Racing Sidecar - GS750

Background: this motor had 14,000 miles on it before I put it in my racing sidecar. At the time of this sample, it had 6.1 hours of race time. Sample was taken cold. Motor is a 1980 GS750 (16-valve). No engine work had been done other than making and installing an external oil cooler and...

is there a way to delete my own thread? It appears that most posters ignore the fundamental question. I'm sorry I asked it.

    Liqui Moly Racing Bike-Oil Additiv

I get the Suzuki oil at $7/qt as part of my sponsorship deal. He normally sells it at $9.95/qt.

    Liqui Moly Racing Bike-Oil Additiv

currently I'm using Suzuki Racing Synthetic 10w-40. I was running Motorex synthetic. I switched because my dealer/sponsor gave me a better price and I change oil about every 6-8 hours (2 race weekends). I did not start doing analysis until recently so I can't give you a decent comparison.

    Liqui Moly Racing Bike-Oil Additiv

Thanks to Trav, I found "Liqui Moly Racing Bike-Oil Additiv." The problem I was trying to mitigate is cam galling. The 1980 GS750 motorcycle motors are know for cam galling and I wasn't excited about installing extra lubrication to the head. This motor spends the vast majority of its time...

Oh Gawd - ANOTHER MMO thread

for those interested, I got some "Liqui Moly Racing Bike-Oil Additiv" and put 80ml in the motor which is slightly less than what was recommended. I raced this weekend and there was no clutch slippage whatsoever. It was brutally hot in NJ (mid 90s) and the motor ran cooler than expected. Not sure...

Oh Gawd - ANOTHER MMO thread

I apologize to the board. I was seeking advice and out-of-the-box thinking on how to prevent cam galling on my racing sidecar motor. I got the answer I needed, but didn't expect, so the board works great! Again, my apologies for starting a religious donnybrook.

Oh Gawd - ANOTHER MMO thread

so the question is cam galling and an oil additive. I think Clevy had a good point with the comment about "film strength." I spent spend some time researching LiquiMoly as Trav suggested. And what did I find? will have to seriously consider this. Thanks everybody! sorry to have started...

Oh Gawd - ANOTHER MMO thread

So, has anyone used MMO in a race vehicle regularly? I use MMO in my old worn out 94 Chevy truck to quiet the lifters. When the lifters get noisy and power drops off, I add MMO and all is well within 20 miles. It works [censored] good. And I won't go without it. I have a 1980 Suzuki GS750...
