The correct answer is to install a new receptacle close enouth to the fan . What I would do is to install an extension cord that was just long enough and be done with it .
Make sure the belts and fan clutch are OK , or the electric fan , if that is what it has .

Exactly what I was thinking . Absolutely check the U-Joints , before you mess with the diff . Of course , draining and refilling gear lube is not going to hurt anything , no matter how often . As long as you use a quality product . Also check & make sure the pinion and wheel seals are OK .

Capacitors are a common failure point on single phase motors and HVAC equipment . Capacitor went out on our living room mini split . Next day I went to Johnstone Supply and purchased a 370 VAC replacement capacitor . That got it running again . Praise the Lord ! :)

If a gasket , I usually use the black non hardening Permatex sealant and adhere the gasket to the removable part .
