Oil Blot test 2011 Subaru WRX 6906km

To answer the question re the warranty, i can use whatever oil as long as its in the same grade, however it must be installed by a licenced mechanic. That is quoted direct from Subaru. So they can fill with my oil when they do the first service.

I live in Australia and the temp here is anywhere from 5c to 40c during the year. I have a 2007 Toyota Corolla and the specs range from 20w -50 down to 0w -20. I intend on using Amsoil SSO 0w -30, do you think this is a wise choice based on the temp range here?

    Amsoil Series 2000 0w-30 - Toyota Rav 4

I have been using the series 2000 for the past few years, in the 3 reports i've had done all pointed towards high oxidation, high viscosity and a low TBN. Wear metals has been very good in all reports. I will be draining this oil in the next few weeks and this time trying the series 3000. With a...

    Redline v's Motul v's Amsoil

I currently use Amsoil 0w-30 and am happy with the product. However i would like to clean the internals of the engine,-like using auto RX. However i don't want to use the RX, i would rather use an ester based oil to do the cleaning. What is the better oil -Redline or Motul? and why?. Cant seem...

Soot in tail pipe = Oil burning ?

This will occur when using dino oil. I changed my car over to synthetic when it had just a few thousand kms on it. At the same time i cleaned the inside of the exhaust pipe (removing all the black soot). It now has over 80,000kms on it and i can still see the sanding marks on the pipe, no soot...

I hear that ester based oils (Motul & Neo) are very good at cleaning the internals of an engine. If this is true would it not warrant using auto RX when using these ester based oils?

My concerns were, if i use this, how will i know what moving part is in the pan and close to where i installed it? Also having...

    BEWARE BY-PASS filters ! !

From reading these posts, all the blame seems to be around Amsoil and their bypass filter. I'm not to sure if that is correct? What the dealer has done is seen a modification which they didn't do, he has then used that as an excuse to void the warranty. From my understanding of a bypass filter...
