how long before gasoline loses its punch?

It's harvest time in western Canada and I (my wife, really) have agreed to help my in-laws with the harvest. Since they live some distance from a gas station, they have told me to fill up my car with gas for when I am really to make the trip back home. They store the gas in a 250 gallon elevated...

    silicon verses nitrile

As winter slowly approaches us all in the north of 50, is a silicone ADBV the way to go in an oil filter and prevent the dreaded startup knock I sometimes encounter with my current oil filter (Baldwin)? which gas do you buy?

I am wondering what brand of gas people here swear by as being the best. I'm a little confused as I have heard both here on this forum and others say brand X is better than brand Y or Z. Please state your brand, why you think it is better and the octane rating.

    Fuel Power's effect on Octane

Don't wish to hijack this post but I find it interesting that people find differing MPG results using different companies. Here in Regina, all gas stations are supplied by the same refinery. Can I assume then that it is the additives that are responsible for the differing MPG results people are...

    snowblower h60 engine oil black

To Jelly The snowblower sits outside generally. Two days ago, it was a balmy -33C. To Brett Miller Can you explain the difference between the J17LM the engine currently runs with and the J19LM you suggest?

    snowblower h60 engine oil black

I have adjusted the main jet(base of bowl) to the point that ,in my opinion, runs to the best of its capabilities. It runs extremely well with the odd hiccup every now and then but nothing too disconcerting. Inspection of the spark plug shows it to be a little sooty.

    snowblower h60 engine oil black

I have replaced the engine oil for the third time now since christmas (about 5 hours running time in total) and the oil has been a dark grey/black colour each time. I always have used 5W30 since I inherited the blower from my father-in-law last summer who I suspect never really looked after it...

    Hand cleaners

Has anyone know a decent hand cleaner on the market that will remove grease and grime from hands(and clothes as well) without much of a fuss? The grease i'm talking about is the stuff that takes 2 to 3 days of washing your hands with soap and water to remove, if your lucky. Any home made...

    Worst Tires Ever?

The general tires that came standard on our Taurus were horrid. On our Escort we had Canadian tire (Motormaster) Predator tires made by Firestone I believe, which were just as bad in wet or dry and especially snow covered roads. Changed both for Nokian WR tires. An excellent all weather tire for...

fuel additives to clean combustion chamber

I've noticed that some fuel additives contain a large percentage of what otherwise is just plain kerosene. Has anyone tried just kerosene and what were your conclusions, if any.
