    TOTAL Quartz Energy 9000 5W40

Thank you very much. You have been incredibly helpful throughout my quest to become a little more educated. Seems all three are good, Toyota, M1 and Amsoil. For me, it seems like M1 is the best value because of the AAP special however, special excluded, Toyota may be the way to go (Unless you...

    TOTAL Quartz Energy 9000 5W40

I used to use Amsoil years ago. Which 0w20 would you recommend for my application? Don't want to start a huge debate but how does the amsoil compare to M1, especially since I can get the oil and filter for $40 + tax. Money isn't a big issue but I don't like giving it away either. Thanks.

So would you go with the M1 over the Toyota based on the cost structure I described?

In my 2008 Ford Edge I will most likely go 7,500 - 9,500 miles(usually change it in the spring and fall). In my 2005 Honda Odyssey, I would probably just follow the oil life monitor. Thanks.

    TOTAL Quartz Energy 9000 5W40

So I was set to go with the Toyota 0w20 for $7.25/quart (Need six quarts) however, I just found Mobil 1 AFE 0w20 in a 5 quart jug for $32.99 (Includes M 1 filter) with 25% off an additionl quart. Total cost for M 1 with filter would be about $40 + tax. Toyota cost would be $42 + tax + filter or...

    TOTAL Quartz Energy 9000 5W40

Thanks. Just found it locally for $7.25/quart. Honda wanted $8.90/quart for their version so Toyota it is. Toyota oil in a Ford, oh boy.

Thank you for the information. I think I will switch both verhicles to the 0w20 based on your information. Is the dealer the best place to purchase the Toyota or Honda 0W20 or is there an online source to purchase from?

    TOTAL Quartz Energy 9000 5W40

Which 0w20 would you recommend for a 2008 Ford Edge (25K miles) and a 2005 Honda Odyssey (110K miles)? Both are daily drivers with a majority of highway miles with some short trips mixed in around town.

    TOTAL Quartz Energy 9000 5W40

Thank you for all of the information. Seems like Total makes a good product. Seems like the real question is whether to use 5w20 or 0w20 which I will research further. Thanks again.

    TOTAL Quartz Energy 9000 5W40

For me, the Total is as readily available as M1 or Penzoil. A local import auto parts store has it in stock at the $7/quart price. I would consider 0w20 but would that affect my power train warranty since the manual calls for 5w20? I am out of the bumper to bumper warranty but still in the power...

Thank you for the response. I just noticed the document is from "Total Lubricants Canada". I can get the Quartz Future 9000 XT 5w20 for $7/quart. Based on that price it is about the same as Mobil so trying to decide which one to use? Thanks.

    TOTAL Quartz Energy 9000 5W40

New to the site. Thank you all for the information. Just wondering what opinions are on another Total Oil product. Quartz Future 9000 XT 5w20. I would be running this in both my Ford Edge and Honda Odyssey. I have a document showing it is SN / GF-5 and that it is 100% synthetic. Not sure of it's...
