    Shop Vac Recs

Since you've already got the lowes unit, at 50% off a good buy I might add, I can't change your mind. However I have been very, VERY pleased with a ridid vacuum I bought a couple of months ago.

    Looking for a cordless drill

2 years ago I got a Hitachi 18v hammer drill (Lithium Ion) with a impact driver. I have been very, very pleased with both of them. Bought off Amazon while on sale.

    DIY Drill bit sharpening

I agree with 2cool. When drilling, almost everyone starts TOO FAST. Just remember speed kills. Slow the bit down, steady feed pressure so that you are pulling a "string" of metal. A good bit will do it on both sides. You can hand sharpen a bit with a good file, if you don't have a grinder. If...

    Michelin Harmony Tires

I put a set of Harmony tires on my 2005 Corolla at 82K miles. Just cruised past 160K with the same set, they look like about half the tread is worn. Only rotated them twice. I am VERY pleased with them. Great in the rain too!

What brand of air tools is the best?

I sell industrial maintenance supplies for a living. I call on a large number of mechanics and maintenance shops. IR tools are common at these shops, the Titanium line is popular (I've sold a few). I see ALL of the brands listed here by other posters and I can say truthfully that I do not hear...

    Good Pocket Knife Wanted

Most of the knives made in China, Pakistan, or India are worthless junk. You'll be lucky to get a year out of one, especially if you actually use it for more than showing. I suggest saving your money and upping the budget to $50. You can find a lot of good knives made here in the USA, or in...

How much value in low mileage vehicles?

I have to ask myself this type of question every time I need to "retire" my work vehicle. I'm an outside salesperson by trade and I drive about 40K miles per year. I usually buy a used vehicle in the best condition I can find with the least mileage. I start looking well in advance of my...

    New book dishes Detroit dirt

My 98 camry has 266K miles, perfectly functioning AC never been charged. In fact, I just now changed the AT fluid (only because I felt guilty, it was shifting fine) While Ford has gotten better, and I may consider them on my next vehicle it will be a LONG time before I own another GM...
