    Coolant for 68 plymouth 318

Yeah changing almost the entire cooling system. Aluminum radiator, hoses, waterpump, thermostat, larger fan. Might try and convert it to a clutch fan as opposed to belt driven. Have to see how everything fits once the new radiator gets in.

    Coolant for 68 plymouth 318

Hello all. Working on fixing the cooling system in the 68 plymouth with a 318 that was passed down recently. Seriously neglected. Wondering after cleaning it all and multiple flushes, once I install the new parts any coolant you would reccomend? I believe it said something about prestone...

    68 plymouth fury oil recommendation

Is there anything you think I should do while getting the timing chain done simply if the parts are 40+ years old and not terribly expensive. Maybe water pump, oil pump or things of the sort if they have to come off anyway.

    68 plymouth fury oil recommendation

Took the fury out for a drive to my family friend's body shop. Made the hour drive there, parked and the hose coming out of the thermostat blew spraying fluid/water everywhere. He promptly laughed at me lol. He's going to give the engine a once over with one of his mechanic friends over the next...

    68 plymouth fury oil recommendation

I looked on rock auto and new timing chain setup isn't that expensive, like $30-40 sound right? Never undertaken a job like that by myself so I'll talk to my mechanic friend whose shop I'm bringing the car to today and tell him I want to get that done first. Also do you have any 5w-30 that you...

    68 plymouth fury oil recommendation

Thanks for the advice thus far. I'm assuming stick to conventional no synthetic right? Side note I believe the 318 had a 9.2:1 compression ratio so is regular 87 octane okay or should I got a little higher? I've read unleaded gas wasn't good for the old softer valve seats so that could be an...

    Metal Flakes in Oil

I just changed the oil in my buddies 03 1.8t jetta today and there were metal shavings in the oil too. I was concerned, he doesn't know cars and thinks its normal. There was a k&n orange filter with some 5w-30 in it, i put in 0w-40 M1 with their filter. Anyway, the metal shavings were noticeable...

    Honda 2.4L Oil Consumption

I was going to run the EP to 8k ish, I know the GTX isn't helping but I figured I'd rather top it off than run it low and longer. I think it can still go that long even with the GTX in there.

    Honda 2.4L Oil Consumption

I checked my oil level today in my 2.4 after the car had been sitting for a couple hours, don't know if that matters, it was about halfway inbetween the low and full point on the dipstick. About 3,000 or just over miles on the oil so I was surprised to see how low it was. Added a quart of GTX I...
