    Yamaha r6, schaffers oil?

I've been using Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10w-40, and I've never noticed any problems. I've also used Royal Purple, but that made the gears feel harsh when I shifted them. I think I'm gonna try Amsoil next and stick with that so I can go with the extended drain intervals. Also, check out www.r6live.com...

    Who trailers their bike?

Trailered the R6 when I first bought it to bring it home. And then once more when a nail punctured the rear tire on the Cherohala Skyway.

Explain How Oil Can Make An Engine "Smoother"

Oil for a GM 3100 with Antifreeze leak?

I'm already on 60degreeV6.com, as well as MyMonte.com, w-body.com, clubGP.com, and L67swap.org. I just don't think that repairing the 3100 is the best option. It's been exposed to coolant/water for long enough that I don't trust the bearings. The heads are most likely warped so that's something...

Oil for a GM 3100 with Antifreeze leak?

Oil for a GM 3100 with Antifreeze leak?

Replacing the 3100 with a 3800 requires replacing the 4T60-E transmission with a 4T65-E. While the L67 (supercharged) and the L36 (non-supercharged) will physically bolt up to the 4T60-E, the PCM will not be able to control it. That, and the hassle of having to repin the C100 connector so that...

Oil for a GM 3100 with Antifreeze leak?

So the Lower Intake Manifold (LIM) gaskets have failed on my Monte Carlo with the 3100 resulting in antifreeze leaking into the crank case. These GM 60degreeV6 engines are notorious for this happening. I need to find an oil that can withstand some antifreeze dilution for a while until I can find...

    Chevy Venture 3.4 Dexcool Saga

Yeah, I would switch over to the green stuff and ditch the Dexcool.

    Chevy Venture 3.4 Dexcool Saga

It isn't the Dexcool that causes these gaskets to fail, it's a faulty design by GM. I have a '95 Monte Carlo with the 3100 and it's never seen Dexcool, yet had the gasket fail at ~70,000 miles. Mechanic changed the gaskets (using the cheap plastic ones, ugh), and now they've failed again at...

    No ethanol!!!!

Really? You guys notice THAT much of a difference between 0% ethanol and 10%? I can't tell a difference at all either in my Yamaha R6 motorcycle or my '95 Monte Carlo.
