What is better 5w20/5000 or 0w20/10,000?

Although not exactly the same engine as the Avalon, I have a UOA on my Lexus GS350 using M1 EP 0w20 for approximately 10,000 miles. You can draw your own conclusions whether or not this interval is right for you...

    Mobil 1 EP 0w-20, 9977 Mi, 2014 Lexus GS350, TAN

Thanks for all of the replies. Considering that TBN is 2.2, and that the flashpoint & viscosity values are reduced due to possible DI fuel dilution, should I reduce the OCI to 7500 miles, or is a 10000 mile OCI still OK?

2014 Lexus GS 350 with 2GR-FSE engine (3.5 liter V6). Purchased this car with 13654 miles (CPO). At 20081 miles, changed the oil to Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w-20. The oil was used approximately 9 months. I used a Toyota/Lexus oil filter. I took this sample at 30058 miles during the latest...

Which 0w-20 would you pick? (Based on specs)

I'm listing the specs (but not the brands) of several 0w-20 oils to see what you would pick and why. Where I live, morning winter temps may dip into the 20s F but daytime summer temps will regularly be in the high 90s to lower 100s F. OCI will be 10,000 miles for a 2014 Lexus GS350. Traveled...

    Best 0w20 for 2013 GS350 F-sport

I have a 2014 GS350, non F-sport. At the 20,000 mile oil change I used M1 EP 0w-20 with a Toyota/Lexus filter. I have 6,000 miles on the oil and have had no issues so far. No noticeable consumption, and fuel economy has been good. No increase in engine noise either. I intend to run a 10,000...

TOTAL pushing for a US presence?

I've noticed the TOTAL sponsorship in the US has increased recently. They are now an official sponsor of the Grand Am road racing series. I also noticed a large TOTAL sign near left center field of the Texas Rangers baseball stadium. The US TOTAL website doesn't have any news regarding new or...

Everyone, thanks for all of the responses so far. I concur with several of the replies regarding 5K oil changes with this engine. I've extended the oil mileage up to 10K before, but the engine is noticeably louder and doesn't feel as smooth at that point. I've been satisfied with the M1 0w-40...
