    This is unfortunate. 46RH

Well, that's fantastic. I'm going to put the blame on the overdrive clutch pack then, since that is what was controlled by the spring that failed. It was banging into overdrive like it was trying to chirp the tires.

    This is unfortunate. 46RH

I recently got my short term project truck back onto the road. It's trans had given me some strange readings before I installed it (Blackstone Report), so I was going to give it a short service and flush it out. It had a servo spring break about 300 miles after it got onto the road, so I had to...

    1992 Dakota 46RH, unknown fluid/mileage

This is going to be interesting to see how it performs. The trans cooler lines show up today, when they are installed, I should be able to start the truck.

    1992 Dakota 46RH, unknown fluid/mileage

Well that's not something I am happy to hear. It came out of a 1991 D150. I've already pulled the pan and I siphoned the torque converter and refilled. It has already taken over 5 quarts to get it to full, and it hasn't even filled the trans coolers yet.

    1992 Dakota 46RH, unknown fluid/mileage

I went junkyard hunting about a decade ago and found a seemingly low mileage 5.2L/46RH in an ex-city truck, that I liked for a project. The project went away, and this setup sat in my shed forever. The engine got some water inside #7, and was locked up/scrapped, but the trans was just there, for...

The FF? I'm not sure. I did notice how different the last OCI was from the FF. Seems like two completely different oils.

    2014 Honda CR-Z 9K, Honda 0W20

There was one oil change between the current test and the last. In this oil change, the car has seen a relatively mild Utah summer, and has also gone on two road trips, one to ND and the other to CO (including the very enjoyable highway 40 over the continental divide @12000'). I was considering...

This is the first time the car requested it.

    2014 Honda CR-Z CVT, 24K

From what I had found on the CR-Z forum, I was right in line with the light coming on when it did. A quick glance through the manual didn't have any specific mileage pop out at me. I will admit that I haven't read it all the way through. The Fit most likely shares the same trans, and I would...

    2014 Honda CR-Z CVT, 24K

The CVT, to me, seems like the devil's handywork. I know how they work, but I still don't completely trust it. When the oil life monitor said to change the fluid, I took the chance at gaining some peace of mind. I did change the external filter when the fluid was changed.

    EMGO Filters?

Thats what I needed to know, thanks! Didn't want to use something that was going to let more garbage in than it would catch.

    EMGO Filters?

I recently picked up a older Honda motorcycle that hadn't been started in years. I got it to fire, and want to get the filters replaced before I run it anymore. I already found an oil filter, but the air filter is being a lot more difficult. I searched through the companies I am familiar with...

GC + Torco Magnetic Friction Reducer, 6600 miles, `96 Ford Contour 2.0L

With the exception of the high moly, I seem to be right with GC VOAs: Molybdenum____0 Calcium_____3631 Magnesium___104 Phosphorus___822 Zinc_________935 The Torco could, and most likely did, skew those readings: Molybdenum__7603 Phosphorus__>9999 Zinc_________trace The universal averages for...

GC + Torco Magnetic Friction Reducer, 6600 miles, `96 Ford Contour 2.0L

I know some people have been curious as to what the Torco does in a sample so I did it with my first GC run. I only used half of the bottle (~6oz.) in this sample. Driving habits have changed considerably with this sample as well. Instead of the 300 miles a week (freeway) I was doing, I am now...

Where can I find an H4 headlight bulb socket?

When I rewired my old Ramcharger, I picked up the standard sealed beam sockets, removed the wire and installed a much larger wire. Worked for me and if I screwed up a new one was at the parts store.

    Heat exchanger idea. Opinions?

So I have tossed this idea around for a little while as to what it would do to the wear numbers on a engine/trans. IMHO, this setup would most likely be better in a cold climate, but it would probably be useful almost everywhere. It starts out as a tube (or a box) that is plumbed into the...

    Heat exchanger idea. Opinions?

Unluckily for me, none of my vehicles came equipped with a 'real' one so thats where this idea came from. I was thinking heater core lines because those see the increasing temperature coolant well before the radiator ever does. It also doesnt see cooled coolant which would be the idea of...

    Please recommend OCI and AutoRX.

Element, if you are concerned about what condition your oil is in at 3K do a sample on it. It will be cheaper then dumping perfectly good M1 and even if you change it out at 6K you would still be ahead of where you were if you had done two 3K OCIs. This is what finally got me to jump above what...
