    Keep the Motorcraft oil in your garage until the warranty runs out. It will last three years. In the meantime use Dexos oil in the Trailblazer (and keep the receipts) until the warranty runs out then switch to your Motorcraft stash.

    2018 Mazda 3 vs 2019 Civic

    I prefer the Mazda 3. It has a nicer body style, a better transmission and the Skyactive engines have proven to be very reliable.

    your utilitarian Daily Driver!?

    Mine is an '09 Chevy Silverado extended cab with a six foot bed and the trailering package with 3:42 gears. 5.3 engine and four speed auto. I bought it new and it has been my daily driver for nine years. I average 17mpg in the city with synthetic oil and routine maintenance.

    Mazda skyactive oil change interval - a bit much

    I have an 09 Silverado the 5.3 liter and 64k miles and use the oil light monitor and fill with Mobil 1 Extended Milage 5w30 with a Mobil 1 oil filter. For my next oil change could I use five quarts of Mobil One Extended Milage and use a quart of Mobil 1 0w20 left over from my wife's last oil...

    I just made the switch...

    I switched from Mobil 1 to Valvoline synthetic 5w30 in my '96 Impala mainly due to price $26 vs $19 at Wal-Mart. The controversy also helped sway me, why pay more for something just as good?

    Energy Conserving Symbol

    I was referring to the "donut" on some oils not having "energy conserving" listed. I had the donut and the starburst mixed up. I'm new.

    Energy Conserving Symbol

    I have noticed the starburst on some oil products have "energy conserving" on the bottom of the symbol and some don't. Usually the least expensive oils have it omitted. Should I stay away from these oils??
