    Post your winter rubber!

I have no pics, but I have 4 195/55-15 Blizzak WS-60's on my MR2 Spyder(they were also on my first Spyder for 3.5 Winters). They were and ARE terrific tires that flat-out work. Always, ALWAYS use snow tires on each corner. As the Firestone/Bridgestone guy said "Don't worry about the cars in...

Cool! Yah, with BLackstone only 2 hours away and Polaris about 5 miles away, I have 2 great places "near by". Thank you again, and Happy New Year to you and yours, Bill and ALL bitog-ers!!! Mark

1ZZFE oil ? aimed at Bill in Utah...

"Brule wrote; I once owned an '02 Spyder. I'm pretty certain I used 5w30 Mobil 1 or Valvoline SynPower when I had mine. Off topic...how did your Spyder run with GC? Any sluggishness in that 1.8? I ask because I'm still looking for an ideal winter oil for a honda 2.0. Also, do you have any idea...

1ZZFE oil ? aimed at Bill in Utah...

AND, anyone else too! Bill, I recently purchased and '04 MR2 Spyder with 109k miles on the original engine. The last owner(# 3, I think) has changed the oil 3 times, once with LM, once with Amsoil and the last with Rotella T6 5w40(each at c #2(Amsoil, I think) he did a Sea Foam treatment(for no...

    Dan Wheldon

I'm not going to get into the high speed oval "argument", but I attended the service today for Dan at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indy. I was taken by the serious thoughts and the humorous stories. I cried for only the second time a driver died racing(the other time was for Jimmy Clark). At times...

Any recommendations on wax and clay bars?

Thanks, but I've seen many vids/how-to's, but I just don't "trust" myself. I'm much better off with hands-on "training". The actual clay-barring, the rubbing of the paint, isn't my concern, it's the "folding" of the bar and making sure there are no remnants of dirt to scratch the paint.

Any recommendations on wax and clay bars?

Hey 09_GPX, I live on the Northside of Indy. I have never clay barred a car because I fear I'll not get it, the clay bar :), properly "folded" and mess-up the paint. Would you be willing to get together and "instruct me" on how to do this properly? I DO have Meg's 50gram clay bars(2) that came...

Roush Fenway or Hendrick motor sports?

The thread name is "Roush Fenway or Hendrick motor sports?", NOT "Jack Roush or Rick Hendrick". In that light, HMS is "better" than RF. Now, from a personal technical ability perspective, JR IS better than RH(I've never read whether RH is very technically oriented). From a "race team"...

    Tried a new oil today

That PentoSpeed container states it's MB 229.5, but it isn't listed here ; http://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevolisten/229.5_en.html ... interesting.

    ContinentalExtremeContact DWS

DWS's are on my SLK350, and I love them. They were on the car when I bought it, so I can't compare them to another tire, but I do know these tires have handled whatever I've asked of them. I'll see if they can handle Winter conditions in 6-7 months.

Opinions on my Lubro Moly oil report

Ok, I remember your site name! I traded my Spyder in on an '06 SLK350, so I spend all my time on SLKWorld. I was just wondering why you used the 5W-40, that's all. I actually bought my WR from Dev. I'm wasn't that plussed with the filter media, that's all. Yah, my 1ZZ was using a qt. per 300...

Opinions on my Lubro Moly oil report

I had an '03 Spyder for 3+ years and had the WR Dragon a/f. It isn't that great a filter. There are foam filters(NON oiled type) that do a better job. Are you on Spyderchat or Spyderweb? If not, at least get on Spyderchat and look-up Kevin Beane. He is smart and has good info. I'm trying to log...

3 diff. labs with samples taken frm the same bott

This from the Blackstone site; "We have some of these tests performed at a different facility. For that reason, it can take longer to get results for some of these specialized tests. If you are concerned with turnaroud time, please call us."

    Conti ExtremeContact DWS

My pre-owned MB SLK350 had DWS's on when I bought it. I was planning on replacing them with Summer HP tires, but have found they are very capable "spirited wet/dry driving" tires. TR did an A/S tire Arctic test/comparison, and the DWS was the clearly the best. I'll see if they can handle Winter...

    MB 7sp AT fluid service...

Ooops, I DID mean to post the link to 236.14, http://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevolisten/236.14_en.html , sorry. I was also a bit thrown by "Gear Oil(listed as such on my repair invoice)" as opposed to ATF. Thank you for the confirmation!
