On the autorx site's faq it states that using HM oils will cause seals to become weak and pliable causing damage to them, I thought the purpose of HM oils was to help with seals over conventional oils.

This is for a brand new civic 08, this will be the first oil change after break-in oil. I am planning 5,000 mile intervals. At walmart castrol is 11$ and mobil one is 22$. Which do you guys think i should use or is there something inbetween that is worth it.

It takes 3.8 qts, Mobil one is 21.99 at walmart last time I looked, I also was going to change the filter each time and use their supertech brand, which I heard was made by champion and is of decent quality (it's onyl 2.33~$)

I'd like to thank everyone for their recommendation, I didn't want to put an oil additive in unless I knew there was a serious issue. I changed the oil today and put maxlife 10w-30, which was 11.97 for 5 quarts at wal-mart. I'll see what happens now.

Would you say a 10w-30 maxlife or 40, It can get cold where I am , sometimes down to -10~
