    Loving Low Carb

I too have been continuing the OMAD daily with a 48-72 hour fast once a week to mix things up on my metabolism. The weight is coming off exceedingly slowly, lately as I approach the 100 pound milestone. I am trying to focus on the body healing itself after decades of neglect & abuse, rather than...

    Loving Low Carb

Hi Between 10and 30grams max in incidental carbs. Until I reach my weight loss goals I am eating only Carnivore/Keto, so no starchy foods or veggies either. I will have a salad now and then or a few beans in chili. Once I reach a healthy weight, I am looking forward to re-incorporating healthy...

    Loving Low Carb

Keep up the great work Mr Luke! Also check out Dr. Cywes, The "Carb Addiction Doc". After seeing his and Dr Fung's videos, I went to a LCHF diet on May 1st, while different plans work for different people, LCHF and OMAD has worked for me brilliantly. I had used LCHF with good results on my A1C...

UNREASONABLE: I fear getting under a car on a lift, or even on jack stands.

I have been looking for safer alternatives to normal jack stands, and these seem like a great alternative, albeit spendy, especially for people like me who have limited locations to safely place jack stands on their vehicles. http://www.jackpointjackstands.com/

    Subaru Quality Strikes Again!!!

My Forrester has developed the compressor constantly cycling on and off problem. It is also loud and has developed a whine. I took it to the dealer and they claim that they found and repaired a bad O ring and recharged the system and the noise is "normal", It is amazing how many problems are now...

Thicker Oil and Variable Valve Timing

Well, the dealer is doing an oil consumption test now. They changed the oil, removed my Fumoto valve and marked the new drain plug. I will go back in 1,200 miles and see how much this engine consumed. Yes, I checked to make sure they did not overfill!

Thicker Oil and Variable Valve Timing

Hi, I have an oil burning 2017 Subaru Forester (2.5i, 82k miles, non turbo, on it's second short block, STILL burning 1 qt every 1,000 miles). I have tried a thicker oil (0w-40) and cut oil consumption by 50%. My question is what impact a thicker than spec oil may have on the variable valve...

    Subaru boxer engine oil

My 2.5i was an oil burner from day one, which is not unusual for Boxer engines. I usually burned 2+ quarts per 5k miles. I switched to 5w-30 and it got a tiny bit better, but when i switched to Mobil1 5w-40 TDT my oil consumption dropped to well below 1 quart per 5k. I had a UOA done and will...

can i use 0w40 in car that calls for 5w30?

I have a 2017 Subaru Forrester 2.5i, which specs 0w-20 or 5w-20. It consistently burned 2 quarts per 5k OCI. To try and reduce oil consumption I switched to Mobil1 5w-40 Turbo Diesel Truck because of its great additive package. That oil reduced my oil consumption to less than 1 quart in 5k...

    Corvette 5.7L LT-1 Engine. M1 0w-40?

Good point about the newer Corvettes having a much higher level of performance. Certainly can't argue there. In the end, I think the LT-1 will be adequately served by any synthetic 5w-30, 0w-30 or 0w-40 weight oil. The M1 0w-40 is spendy by the quart, but Walmart has had the M1 0w-40 for 22.96...

    Corvette 5.7L LT-1 Engine. M1 0w-40?

No leaks whatsoever, I am considering the HM oil for those 26 year old seals as well. I generally like the additive packages in the HM oils. Yes, I would consider PP Euro 0w-40 interchangeable with the M1 0w-40.

    Corvette 5.7L LT-1 Engine. M1 0w-40?

I recently acquired a 1992 Corvette with the 5.7l LT-1 engine. This car is a garage queen, in showroom condition with only 48,000 miles on the clock. I plan on using this car as a weekend toy for the Warden and myself. It will see some spirited country road and highway mileage. Nothing near its...

    Brad Penn Green Oil

Both of the old school mechanic/race tuners that I purchase the Penn oil from have told me that it is the same oil from the same refinery with a very robust additive package. They convinced me, I run the BP 20w-50 in my Evo Harley and BMW Boxer.

    Wrong Oil in Crankcase

That would be a "Duh" I certainly should have taken it with me. Good to know that the oil is good quality. I am going to leave it in for a while.
