    8000KM/5000mile dino OC=?KM/?mile with synthetic?

Hello everyone My Toyota Yaris has a recommended oil change interval of 8000KM/5000miles. How long can I go with a synthetic, like M1, or Castrol, or PP? I am guessing that nobody knows for sure exactly how long, especially if nobody has done an UOA on any vehicle which calls for an...

    Miles/Kilometers VS Time?

The service schedule for my Toyota calls for an oil change every 8000km/5000miles... or every 6 months.... why does time play a roll here? is it the $$$ the dealer is trying to make?....because I will probably only drive 4000km/2500miles in 6 months. So what gives? Can't I just change the oil...

Yes my Exploder is rated for 5W-30. Okay so Synpower is fine to use. That is great, mainly cuz it's so cheap at Walmart. Maybe I will get an UOA done to see where I stand... if I do I will keep you guys posted. Okay then so what about oil filters... how long will a good oil filter last... cuz...

Valvoline Synpower OCI, and Quality Questions...

Hello all: I have a 1997 Ford Explorer. It has been about 10000 kilometers or 6000 miles on the motor oil. The brand of oil is Valvoline SynPower. First of all, should I change it? I ask this because I have read on this board that Synpower is a lousy synthetic oil, mainly because of it's...

Where can I purchase a 0W-20 in Canada?

Interesting Well then I am going to do my homework (track it down @ retailers) and get back to you guys on that. It will only have an impact for those who live in Canada of course, as American retailer seem to carry it like clock work. Anyways, thanks for the input.

Where can I purchase a 0W-20 in Canada?

Fair enough. I will talk to some of the heads @ Canadian tire about Pennzoil 0W20. Any word on who makes oil for Toyota? Also is it true that any 0W-## oil is a true synthetic, and not just a group 3? Thanks

Where can I purchase a 0W-20 in Canada?

Lordco has a hard time getting odd grades of motor oil in. I asked them if they can bring in a case of M1 0W30 for me. They said they will try & gimme a call if they can. Needless to say I did not get a call back. I wll try to do some hunting, I figure that I would ask first. I will try a few...

Where can I purchase a 0W-20 in Canada?

I know Pennzoil makes a 0W-20, and so does Mobil 1, and Amsoil. But where can I find it in Canada? I know Canadian Tire doesn't have it, nor does Walmart (I am pretty sure anyways) Is it true that any 0W-## motor oil is a true synthetic, chemically speaking (Group4)? Thanks

OCI on a true group 4 synthetic, other questions...

I found that a store close to where I live still had some old school Pennzoil synthetic oil... before it went platinum. I took a look at the date on the bottle and it dates back to 2003. This means that it is a true group 4 synthetic , correct me if I am wrong... What would be the OCI on a true...

New Toyota.... when should I change the oil?

Really? where does it say this... cuz it sure as heck doesn't say this in their owners manual... Also, 5W-20 = 0W-20 from many motor oil manufactures point of view. If I can get an advantage, even the slightest, I will take it. Where does it say I can do so? Thanks a mill...

New Toyota.... when should I change the oil?

So then why doesn't this high-end material used in the Napa gold filters? After all, WIX is smart enough to use a bypass, so why isn't Denso ( OE filter for Toyota ) use one? Napa gold uses Cellulose based filter material in their filters as I last recall. I am sure this is like splitting...

New Toyota.... when should I change the oil?

So the O.E. filter does not have a bypass valve? If that's the case then why the ____ doesn't Toyota use a bloody Fram filter as their OE filter... What is meant by "Glass media"? Well if the OE filter doesn't have a bypass Valve, I am even more tempted to replace it with the Napa gold filter...

New Toyota.... when should I change the oil?

Silver cap.... I believe that is Mobil 1 5W20 ... but the manual calls for 5W-30, which has a blue cap. Is this correct? I don't think it is wise to go 5W-20 when the manual calls for 5W-30..... especially while still under warranty.
