Nope, I've got the "regular" M3 motor.:( I guess it's 5-40!

I've heard good things about Pentosin's motor oils. Anyone have advice on which weight to use on a BMW E36 M3? TIA!

Yeah, you've got to try various methods of searching. But in the end, well worth it! Some folks were looking for the 0W/30 but seems like they're out of stock. But they also carry Pentosin which is another high quality Euro oil which should make for a good replacement to the Lubromoly.

I've been using PartQuick for about two months and find them to be incredibly efficient to ship and products are as advertised. Very happy with them.

This might seem silly but the thing that scares me away from the Shell Rotella oil is the price! WalMart sells it for so little!

I wouldn't be too concerned if the seal is unbroken. Unless you live in an incredibly humid area the fluid should be fine.

Now I'm kinda torn, do I go with a 0w/40 or the 5w/40? The specs on the Pentosynth 5w/40 seems like it's only a group III?

Here in Hawaii it's tough to bring anything in at a reasonable price so need to go through local warehouse. Looks like their PentoSpeed are the better oils. Putting this into 97 528i and M3. Both have just been treated with AutoRx. Correct me if I'm wrong but looks like the 5/40 is a Group III...

Does anyone have any experience with this oil? What Group? Which is better, the 0/30 or 5/40 for a BMW motor? Or Lubromoly? I know that Pentosin is OEM for many products, hydraulic fluid, ATF, etc. Thanks!
