    Uhaul, Budget, or Penske

I admit having a bit of a vendetta with U-Haul. Back in the Spring of 2014, the pregnant wife and I were making plans to move back to the U.S. I checked U-Haul's website and confirmed that I could use a four-wheel dolly to tow my wife's vehicle from Michigan to Texas without issue. My truck...

    Firestone Destination AT for Tundra

Probably replacing OEM tires (265-65-17) on my Tacoma soon. Thanks for this; the Firestone Destination LE2 is near the top of my list. Only drawback is it seems only Tire Rack carries them in my size. Sure, the A/Ts could get more man points, but I drive 40 minutes on DFW highways to and from work.

    New Techron label

Question is whether the later formulations with the previous label had it. Just put some in my truck this morning. Not worth losing sleep over.

    Rob Kauffman buys CGR stake

I get the feeling from the MWR press release that Kauffman is jumping ship. Probably about time, too.

vanline refuses to relocate my stash

I work part time as a package handler at a major shipping company. Do NOT ship oil that is not properly labeled. You're asking for the box to undergo treacherous trips inside sorting hubs on fast conveyor belts and chutes with thousands of its closest friends. That, and some pot smoker inside...

Typical oil loss in 2008 Honda CR-V?

[Concerning the PCV valve.] Nope. Had to look that one up. :-)

Typical oil loss in 2008 Honda CR-V?

The loss isn't entirely consistent per mile. Left point A with oil halfway between fill and full. Checked around 1,000 miles in and found it just above 'fill.' Added a quart, drove to point B, then back to point A (1,600 miles) and saw no loss. But if the overall rate is 'normal,' then maybe...

Typical oil loss in 2008 Honda CR-V?

Currently running M1 HM 5w-20 in a 2008 Honda CR-V with about 138,000 miles on it. Been running the HM since I've been noticing oil loss. On a recent road trip over 1,300 miles, we started the trip with the oil halfway between the 'fill' and 'full' dots on the dipstick (apologies for bad...

    Gun grease

Just received a Sig P239 for Christmas. Factory grease is Mil-Comm TW25B, which is apparently "all synthetic." I tried out the sample, and it seems like very solid stuff. But given the usual beatdown people get here on BITOG for bad general statements like "Synthetics are superior to...

19 oil banned in NJ, pretty interesting

Many customers might even say, "My car was built 15 years ago. It's not LATE model, is it?"

19 oil banned in NJ, pretty interesting

Found these at the local convenience store the other day. Looks like an attempt to keep selling substandard oil while staying out of the way of lawyers. "Meets API SA Service requirements." OOOOOOOO!!! You know, because this is always were I get oil for my pre-1918 engines... The same company...
