I wouldn't pay. Here in Texas they can't make you. I've got $3,700 and my step dad has $33,000. We both have good credit so I guess it doesn't show up.

Because he can. Go big or GTFO.
Full coverage w/ minimum limits. If my insurance doesn't cover it all, they can sue but, they're not getting anything. Texas is a good state to get sued in, no garnishments.
On my F350, the colder the engine, the longer the light stays on. If I were to take a guess, the truck takes engine temp into account when setting the light.
When my car was totalled, State Farm gave me the option of taking a check minus the amount they would get at an auction. They said the title would remain clear.
Had a car parallel park too close behind me and had to "coax" the other car back just so I could get out. Not a scratch on my truck, but the other guys license plate and lower bumper got it. Never thought about using my hitch like that. I've got the tri ball hitch.
I figure if your going to f' my day by crashing into me, I need to make sure your day is just as fun. Don't like it, don't hit me. As far as people banging in to them, I could see if it is on a vehicle that sticks out past a normal parking space. In that case you need to be courteous and remove...
I leave mine in to increase the damage to the fool that hit me. With no hitch, a mild contact maybe the bumpers will get scratched or slightly dented. With most vehicles having plastic bumpers, hopefully my hitch sticks out far enough to stab their radiator.
