Great question. I asked a technician at work about this, and I guess Cat's way of measuring soot involves a conversion chart. I was told 2 is ridiculously low.

So far so good. Even with sealing the holes in the top of the tailgate, I've gone through a couple tailgate switches. I also had a fuel pressure sensor in the tank go. Otherwise, she tows 7-8k lbs. pretty often and treats me well.

I greatly appreciate your input, as well as the suggestion to check out PQIA's website. With a quick glance, I believe their site as the info I was looking for. Have a terrific weekend. Jeff

Hi gang, I have access to Fabick/Cat UOA kits at cost, so I thought I'd give one a try. This analysis was sent in with my 55,000 total miles, 5,000 mile interval change on my 2021 GMC 3500 L8T gas 6.6 L truck. The oil used is Valvoline Advanced Full Synthetic 5W30. This is a Dexos certified...

    Favorite UOA Company?

Yeah, I don't get it. Back in the earlier days of the Web, I thought there was a greater understanding of searching for an answer before blindly asking. Most of the Facebook groups I belong to get the same 4-5 questions EVERY day; it's kind of comical, lol. Thanks for appreciating that I try to...

    Favorite UOA Company?

To my amateur eye, it looks like all the labs test similarly. It appears Polaris may test additives a bit differently, as their numbers seem higher than the others? Is it fair to say I'm going to get a reliable, comprehensive analysis with any of these 3, or is there something I'm missing?

    Favorite UOA Company?

Lol, I can usually find my answers by searching old threads. This one has t come up for a bit, so I thought it'd be best to ask, rather than rely on several years old info. Thanks!

    Favorite UOA Company?

Hi gang, I did some searching, and was surprised to see there weren't any threads in the last couple years about favorite UOA labs. I bought a new GMC 3500 gas a couple years back, and stick with 5,000 mile OCI. I'm approaching 50,000 miles, and I'd like to start sending samples out to see how...
