    Walmart Deal???

We put a set on our Highlander just a few months ago. We now have around 7,500 miles on them and they are a good, quiet tire. Plenty of rain driving (no problems) but never had any snow driving to speak of. We've had a set of the Grabber HTS before, and they were probably the best tires we've...

    Best Toilets in 2020?

Another vote for Mansfield. Cheap (depending on model), American made, works well. They use a different style of flush valve that can prevent overflow in case of a clog by simply moving the flush lever back to the "up" position. Our new home came with standard height, round bowl Mansfield...

Total Repair Costs over 200,000 miles

2010 Toyota Highlander with the 2.7 inline 4. They were made in either Japan or the US that year - we have the Japanese made version. It has 260,000 miles and no unexpected repairs needed at all; just brakes, tires, plugs, fluids and filters. We travel the country in it, so I replace the belt...

Grease and oil filter for John Deere lawn tractor

For the Kawasaki engine, you'll need a Fram PH4967 or Wix 51394 (or 51394 XP). Right now, my grease gun is filled with Valvoline SynPower, so that's what I use

    Continental TrueContact Tour

I have a set on a car that gets little use, but the 6,000 miles or so I've put on them have been quiet and smooth. Rain performance is fine - no snow use to speak of.

any skinny on a 2008 lacrosse?

Ah! Very interesting! I actually did a Google images search, and never could find a pic of the engine bay that was far out enough to include those bump stops I'd never seen them painted that way on any other car I've owned (including a 2008 Buick Lucerne). They've always been natural black...

any skinny on a 2008 lacrosse?

As has been noted, there's been some type of issue with an accident. The (normally black) rubber bump stops for the hood have been painted Scarlett Red. The fact that there is zero explanation for that, but sentence after sentence talking about how pristine it is means you should be cautious...

Car brand that burned you so bad on reliability you'd never buy again?

We're pretty soured on Ford in this house. Years ago, we were caught up in the 3.8 head gasket issue. At 40,000 miles or so, my wife's Thunderbird went kaput and we went to our local Ford dealer to have it checked out. They diagnosed that the head gaskets had failed and, since we were over the...

2002 Cadillac Deville run or fix it?

You might be on the hook for upwards of $5,000 if you don't have the mechanical ability to fix the headgasket issue that might crop up on the Northstar (a.k.a. Deathstar) engine.

What kind of thermostat is this?

http://www.building36.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Intelligent-Thermostat_Product_Manual.pdf It looks like you can replace it with any of the newer thermostats (Nest, Ecobee, Honeywell) on the market since it has a common wire.

    Bacon!

We buy Wright bacon too. We put it on a baking sheet and cook it in the convection oven at 375 for 25 minutes or so. Then we strain the grease into a container and use it in place of butter / oil for various things - good stuff!

    .308 Win or .25-06

GunBlue490 to the rescue. This guy knows his stuff and just happens to have a video on which cartridges he believes are best for specific situations (he is primarily focusing on deer hunting here). If you'll go directly to the youtube site, the first comment under the video has all of the...

Any info on John Deere 30 sec oil change filter??

You may have already come across this video, but if you haven't, it has the necessary part number for the conversion. I slowed down the video when he puts on the new oil filter, and he's using a PL10241 equivalent, so you're good to go. The info starts at 2:40.
