    Transmission Fluid Temperature

I have a 2017 GMC Canyon V6 with towing package. Included in the vehicle information system display is the automatic transmission fluid temperature. However, the owners manual doesn't indicate what temperature is normal nor what is a concern, etc. Therefore, for an uninformed person like me...

General Consensus - Castrol Edge in 0W20

I haven't been following this site closely so am not aware of the latest consensus on various 0W20 oils. In my area, the only 0W20 synthetics I see on sale every now and then are Quaker State and Castrol Edge (black bottle). At the present time, the 0W20 Castrol is on sale and I would like to...

Which 0W20 for better high temp protection

Thanks for the interesting replies. I will stay with 0W20 while under warranty except if I tow a trailer. After the vehicle is out of warranty, I may change to a 0W30 as the normal fill.

Noria Publications Implications to Me on Thin Oils

As I interpret the Noria publication it is not saying that using thin oils e.g. 0w20 will result in the engine not lasting for 100,000 or 200,000 miles or whatever. Rather, I interpret it as saying that in many cases a thicker oil would provide better protection against certain conditions and...
