I have a old BMW (only 103k on clock) with the GM 4L30e auto transmission (it's a variant of the GM 4L60 found all over the place). Trans is S-L-O-W into reverse - count to 5, then it engages. Forward gears & shifting good, no slip, no bang. Fluid level is correct, color of fluid is a good red...

If you're doing the control arms, have them do ALL the ball joints, tie rods, & bushings, etc. Extra material costs will probably be well under $200, and since it's already 80% apart, extra labor should be minimal. At that point you have a complete suspension refresh and have headed off...

Only problem with some plastic radiators is, if cheaply made, thin-walled necks get brittle with age & fail from over-tightening the hoses. My last Toyota went 185,000 miles without a problem, while e36 BMWs (323/325/328) fail like clockwork at around 85,000 miles. .

IMHO - Go wider and lower OEM: 175 x 65 = 11,375 ( Alt OEM: 185 x 65 = 12,025 ) Nearest: 195 x 60 = 11,700 Enough of a difference in larger tire footprint to *make* a difference, and the slightly shorter sidewall will help it handle a little better - Most likely noticeable in quicker steering...

I getting ready to put my weekend car up for sale & replace it with an old ('94-'97) Honda Del Sol. Considering that the Del Sol was not a high-volume seller, there sure are a lot around at reasonable prices. (( hint hint )) It's a 2 seater "convertible/hard-top" for those who don't know the car.
