Gasoline is fresh, right? You've got gas in it?

Heating citrus grove the old way

Stay out of the Withlacoochee Forest...it's full of yetis and swamp apes! Much of the area below SR 50 and west of Clermont makes up the Green Swamp which recharges Florida's aquifer and is the head for about 5 rivers including the Peace, Withlacoochee and Hillsborough rivers. Development of...

Heating citrus grove the old way

Things are a LOT different now in Lake county and other Florida counties than a few decades ago. To build a roof to cover wood today you'd have to get a building permit, pay impact fees, submit a regional impact study, and fight a tidal wave of heat and objections to the roof from the northern...

Heating citrus grove the old way

Citrus is fine south of Lakeland, until the freezes of the 1980s citrus was extensive up to approximately 20 miles north and parallel with State Road 50...all that area got wiped out and never really came back...houses were built on much of the acreage that used to be citrus in that area. Citrus...

Heating citrus grove the old way

I can't remember for sure, but I seem to remember piles of tires being burned too years ago to heat Florida citrus groves during hard freezes.

Heating citrus grove the old way

I was raised in Central Florida and well remember smudge pots and 'firing up the groves'. During high school in late '60s I went out a few times, and got out of school, helping friends' families fire up the groves. I remember near Orlando along I-4 between SR 434 and SR 436 a few times when it...

Purolater Classic 9k miles 1 year

9000 miles on a Purolator Classic is really pushing it. It's kinda like climbing out on a tree limb to see how far out you can go before the limb snaps and you fall to ground and break your neck. The filters are only about $3.27 at Walmart...a shorter OCI would make more cents.

dexos 1 supersede, replace GM4718M specification?

Thanks everyone! Some Corvette owners' hands might be a little shaky though pouring a blend in engine after always using full synthetic in past.

dexos 1 supersede, replace GM4718M specification?

My concern is that some of the dexos 1 oils are blends and I thought the GM4718M oils were all full synthetics.

dexos 1 supersede, replace GM4718M specification?

My brother has always put GM4718M spec'd oil in his '99 Corvette...usually Mobil 1 5W-30. If he uses oil that is stamped dexos 1 on bottle, but doesn't have on back of bottle 'GM4718M spec'd'....is he safe? Does dexos 1 alone cover the GM4718M recommendation?

    Havoline PQIA NOACK 15.1%

Yikes! I've got 4 quarts of Havoline 5W-30 SN already in hand, ready to go in my kid's '98 Cavalier next oil change....will the Havoline cause its engine to blow up?

    Hyundai OEM Filter specs

Like they say in the YouTube video at 1:00, you can easily spot fake filters by looking for misspellings in Korean warning label on filters. Easy only if you can read Korean! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEfmPFRaoNo

Fluid and filter change SuperTech Dexron VI good?

Valvoline sells Dexron VI ATF too. Use that and keep everyone happy. Saw Valvoline Dexron VI in my local Auto Zone other day on shelf priced at $6.99/quart.

    Oils that you've never used

Haven't used Rural King brand motor oil yet. Rural King store sells it for $1.89/quart...GF-5, SN in most all weights. I bought a quart of Rural King straight weight detergent 30W for my lawn mower last week, but haven't used it yet.
